Excitement in our neighborhood

Our local police department and county sherrifs were all over our backyard and surrounding area last night …helicopters…dogs… and at least 15 cop cars. My DF and I stayed on the steps watching.

Apparently 4 guys came into the bar downstairs and acted suspicious. They said that they were from Massachusetts and out of gas, but they parked in lot next door way toward the back. A regular customer called the cops because he thought they might try to rob the place when they saw people clear out of there. The 1st cop car showed up and shined lights on their vehicle and they took off into the woods. Anyway, they got all 4 of them in about 1/2 hour! We heard that they were driving a stolen vehicle.

Woo Hoo. I'm writing a thank you letter to the police department.

That's very scary!!, I'm glad they caught them. Good on the guy that called the police...just goes to show how we should trust our gut feeling more often!

Wow! I'm really impressed that the police responded so well. Good on them for a preemptive strike, no-one got hurt or robbed.
That would be some major excitement in the neighbourhood!

While I was in work yesterday the bar owner noticed that a bathroom window in the back of the building had been broken and the screen was sliced too!

No one knows how it happened, but here's the theory:
While the 4 criminals were in the bar (before the whole thing happened), one of them played the juke box. It is pretty loud and right next to the bathroom. He went in the bathroom, locked the door, broke the window, and sliced the screen. That way they would have access to the building after hours.

From what I heard, they were wandering around as if they were "casing the joint." (I'm laughing because thats the term my friend used and I think it sounds funny in a gangster kind of way)

Where they parked was a red flag too. Most people would just make it to the edge of the lot if they were out of gas, not park all the way in the back.

No wonder they got caught!
