I have two cats who are 3 years old and have always been in reasonably good health. However, one problem that I have always had with them is that the smell of their poop is utterly unbearable. I have worked in kennels with cats in the past and I have never smelled feces this bad. I feed them all natural, holistic food (the brand is called Eagle Pack). And, yet, it still smells, and it looks like it may have some mucus in it.

I know that this is all kind of silly and gross, but I really need some advice or tips. If anyone knows what I can do to fix this problem, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks!

I agree with a fecal sample too, if everything checks out then here's my next suggestion. I have one cat that has this same problem and it tends to come and go. I've had a fecal done and nothing showed up. Usually Mama gets stinky poo and gas when she has hairballs, do your cats have longer hair? I give Mama laxatone when she has bad hairballs and usually the gas and stinkiness clear up after a few days.

They both have about medium length hair (they are tabbies), but they have actually never had hairballs, come to think of it. But, I am wondering if their size has something to do with the smell. They are extremely tall and long for normal tabbies, and they weigh 23 lbs. each. They don't seem terribly overweight to me for their bone structure and vets have never mentioned them being overweight, but I wonder if somehow that is connected.....Thanks so much for the advice
