Has anyone here ever seen the ORIGINAL Haunting of Hill house (Jukie Harris version) or Rose red? I have seen both and loved both but NOW I am reading the Haunting of Hill house and I find it to be almost exactly the same as Rose Red.

Guess Stephen King read it and just improvised on it.

I've seen both and liked THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE a lot better.

I'm not familiar with Rose Red, but I loved both the book and the original film version of "The Haunting of Hill House". The remake wasn't nearly as good, despite Liam Neeson and the special effects.

I haven't read either of the books but have just watched Rose Red.

All 6 hours of it in one sitting
I thought it was ok but a bit weak. We never really found it scary and the only interesting character in it is Emery

I watched the remake of Hill House and again it never really got me looking over my shoulder
Though i have to agree with jcat in that the original was far better.
