Watched the first one and it was horrible!
So what did I do - rented the second one!!!! What an idiot.

So....I am starting it right now (while it's still light out). Hopefully I'll make it through....am all alone....

Check back on me in a couple of hours.......

My friend and I watched that and we were really impressed!!! Normally the second movie isn't as good as the first but this had the shock factor that made me love saw 1....I almost think I like Saw 2 better!!!!

Oooo! I'm so excited for you! I think you secretly like the first movie

I thought the first movie was done REALLY good. Most other horror flicks seemed average compared to this (Cabin Fever, Wrong Turn, etc).
Can't wait to see Saw II!!!

I liked it... I thought it was going to be this really really scary movie, but it's just a little violent. Not scary in the least. Yay for baseball bats with nails!!

WOW!!!!! I made it before sundown.

That was unbelievably gory!! That was 100 times worse than the first one. And yes - even though I'm horrified by both - secretly I guess I do like them (or I wouldn't have rented it right?). Well, this one was awesome! It was a lot better than the first and the first was really good. It was disgusting though!
I am horrified and thrilled at the same time (and probably won't sleep tonite ...
)
As everyone's said - usually the second can't live up, but this one sure did.
I give it

(and for those of you who saw it in the theater or haven't seen it yet - rent the DVD cause the special features are great. They have this cool section on every detail of how they made all the traps. The needles were the coolest to watch being made.)

Umm that's how I act when I try to watch a scary movie.
I know, I don't blame them either. Never seen this particular movie, don't care to either I'm such a wimp, but it sounds just really really terrifying!!!
I'm glad you take care to make sure they're not around when you watch it though

Will and I watched it this weekend, I like horror movies but not this one. Just a little too gory for me.

I finally saw the first one just a week ago. I'd like to see the second one some time. There were a few inconsistencies that bugged me about the first one though. One of them was the body on the ground and the two characters both agreeing out loud that it wasn't breathing. Those guys were in that room for hours and hours. I'm supposed to assume that the guy on the floor held his breath for a day? Yeah right.
I hope the second one doesn't have stuff like that.

Yeah - I know what you mean about that. The body threw me too, but I guess no movie is perfect. They said it wasn't breathing, but I don't remember - did they ever touch it or take the pulse or anything? Maybe we are just suppose to assume that they "glanced" at it and saw the blood and just kinda assumed it wasn't breathing.
I didn't see anything like that in the second one. I think it made sense, although at the same time I'm so freaked out I don't really pay attention to some of the tiny details. Like one important detail in the second one that I never caught until I watched the special features and they pointed it out.
You know as well as I do that all these freaky movies have stupid parts anyways - they hear a noise in a dark room and what do they do? - go into the dark room. They hear a noise outside and what do they do? They go outside. They get trapped somewhere with a very evident way out and what do they do? Panic and freak out. While we all sit here and YELL at the TV - DON"T GO INTO THE ROOM!! DON'T GO OUTSIDE!! THE DOOR IS OVER THERE IDIOT!!

I thought newer scary movies were getting away from that.
You know what I rented instead of Saw II last time? It was The Devil's Rejects. I need to remember to save scary movies for dates. It makes any bad horror movie good!

But you've got to remember that Rob Zombie made House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects to pay homage to the campy B-rate horror movies of the 60s & 70s. So they are supposed to be bad! Of course, Rob Zombie is also just a sick individual, so the visuals are better than the 60s & 70s horror/slasher flicks.
