I have had the hiccups for going on TWO hours now. They are really starting to hurt! I've tried holding my breath, drinking water, nothing is working!
Funny, I can't remember the last time I had them. Must be making up for it now, though!

2 hours?! Aaaaaack, how annoying!! Sorry it's hurting, too. And I thought 10 minutes was bad...

Have you tried this?

Take a glass of water, and put a butter-knife in it and drink the water, placing the end of the handle of it between your eyes, the sinus area.

I have no clue how this cure works but it does the trick every time for me!
Hope they stop soon!

BOO!

I've heard that a sudden scare can stop them.

Actually, I got to laughing so hard at this mental image that they stopped, if you can believe it!

OMG thank you....I was beginning to worry, it can't be good to hiccup that long!

Those are all great things to do. I am a very bad hiccuper, and will hiccup for hours, and have problems because of it. But I KNOW one thing will work..it's nothing you can do for yourself, someone else has to do it. But seriously...works every time. (BTW, Im glad they are gone now, because I was gonna do this to you)

If someone is having the hiccups, ask them a VERY VERY ODD question. Seriously. Something like "dont you have to take the butterflies to canada tomarrow, because they are crowding the stairs"

Or "How can you get to hawaii in a raft with 3 cats?"

Or "Did you remember to get those radioactive candles I asked you to?

Just really wierd things. It makes people stop doing everything for just one moment, and it makes the brain think somethings wrong. I swear it works.

But what's really funny...Is when you ask them questions like that(remember, they have to be extreamly wierd.)...Let them ponder it a second. Dont let them know your going to ask them anything...just flat out say it. And then after they think about it for a while, say.."your hiccupps are gone arent they" lol

Those all seem like good ideas (just remember to have the blade down in the glass.

What always works for me is to get a glass of water and drink while plugging your ears. The built up air pressure from swallowing while your ears are plugged works every time.

I hold my breath until I hiccup again. So however long it takes me to hiccup again is how long I hold my breath. Just holding it for 10 secs doesn't work for me. And drinking water from the wrong side of the glass. My mom always tries to scare me but that doesn't work very often!
