Today I went to vacuum my rug and it just wasn't working very well. I've never changed a vacuum bag before, so I called my lovely mom and she talked me through it. It turned out there was enough fur in there to make a whole new cat.

so today I learned that I need to change my vacuum bag every month

what did you learn today?

Well done! Hey, you should collect that hair and save it up. Then when you have several bags full, you can spin it into yarn and knit a lovely sweater with it!

I learned that driving around town doing errands really should be done well before rush hour.

I learned never breathe a sigh of relief until the task is done. I was walking a dog, I walked like 8 blocks and the house before the one I was returning to, I slipped and fell on a patch of ice.

Let's see...I learned that even when I think there's nothing in my house to make for dinner, I can always scrape something together from the pantry and the freezer!

Well, I learned this a few months ago. The reason there is a little pointy attachment for the vacuum hose is so you don't suck up HUGE things. When my new vacuum lost its suction, I pulled the hose off where it attaches to the vac, and found a Matchbox car! Once I removed it, the vac began working really well again! LOL! So now I put the pointy attachment on unless I am really sure of what I am sucking up with the hose! (I'd rather vacuum under dressers, and in couch creases, than look and see what disgusting ickies are growing there!)

I learnt that even if it doesn't look like a patch of ice doesn't mean it isn't a slippery patch of something. Almost fell on my way to work today!

I learned that if I leave at six for work and take both sets of car keys, Lee can't get to work at 7:30 and I have to wait around in town for 2 hours until he gets off to take him home!

Under the cats, mostly.
hehehe sounds like fun! YOu've NEVER changed a vaccuum bag in your life? I'm sorry to say it, but that one DID surprise me!

I learned that even the most adept of cat-handlers can get a really good whack with the claws and finish up in the ER. Our big boy Jesper got himself a claw through one lip this morning - even after having many many years of experience with cats and cat handling. He and I wandered down to ER together (you always have to go in pairs from a workplace around here) so that he could be cleaned up, stuck back together and given another taetanus shot! Poor lad!

hahaha I know, its pretty pathetic, but I think its mostly due to the fact that the vaccuum we used at home had a clear plastic container that you could just unscrew and empty into the garbage. it was EASY to tell when that one was full!
