So I randomly pick to packages out of my freezer. The first is frozen broccoli.
It says made in China. They import frozen broccoli from China to the US????
The second is Van de Kamps Beer battered fish. "This product contains a neglible level of alcohol for flavoring only. Most of the alcohol evaporates during the heating process."

There's actually a contest out there somewhere to find silly statements on packaging. It is to prevent lawsuits. I could not imagine eating frozen pizza. Silly.

My step-brother tried to make a frozen pizza for himself one night, and so he put it in the oven for like, ten minutes on a really low temperature, and when it didn't get done, he decides to leave it out, uncovered in the kitchen all night and asked my mom to heat it up for him in the morning. That's just disgusting..
She threw it away, of course.. thanks to him, it was a waste of a pizza..

Best one I recall was on a lawnmower:

"Do not use as a hedge trimmer."

Someone DID that?!?! The thing you have to remember is that more than likely, someone, somewhere actually DID the thing they are warning you about (especially the ones you would NEVER think to do on your own) and then sued the manufacturer because it wasn't implicitly stated that they shouldn't do it on the instructions.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
I've just had a thought about this. I read in a magazine recently the story of a young girl, (about 12 years old I think) who had an obsession with eating and was seriously overweight.
Her Mum had to go to all kinds of lengths to stop her eating cat food and cat poo from the litter tray. She also ate FROZEN fish fingers and whatever else she could get from the freezer because there wasn't any food left anywhere else.
I know it kind of goes off topic but maybe thats a serious reason why they have to put these warnings, because there are actually a handful of people who don't think rationally when it comes to food...

For some reason this reminds me of when instead of using the attachments to my vacuum cleaner to clean the sofa, I just pick the whole thing up and roll it across.
I'll have to see if there is a warning on it.

Just as an aside-patients with a certain genetic disorder will eat themselves more or less to death because they never feel full. They will also eat garbage and things like cat poo if they can't get food. Their parents have to padlock the cabinets and fridges to stop the children from stealing food. I wonder if the girl had this disorder.

Some people are really stupid. I once had a shirt that said don't iron while wearing! I guess some people need things spelled out for them.

It really gets me to think that whatever standards they have, perhaps some bad bacteria has slipped through the cracks in during the food processing and handling and that cooking it fully reduces the risk. Maybe it's an irrational fear I have?
Nevertheless, I don't see why anyone would be impatient enough to eat an uncooked pizza... cookie dough maybe.
the cookie dough package probably has the same warning, due to the raw eggs...

Raw cookie dough and cake batter are worth taking the chance with the raw eggs in them! :-)

Just wondering, besides the ovbious of eating a "frozen" pizza, would the warning be on there because of meat in the pizza that isn't precooked?

Christy I think she did have something like that. It was a disorder for sure, they was a TV documentary about her condition which I didn't see but I'm sure it was very interesting. It's a real shame for the people affected by this condition.

I'm with Linda! I love eating cookie dough. I can't imagine eating an uncooked frozen pizza. Bacteria is in everything though. I just read some article that said that frozen food means frozen bacteria- as soon as it thaws the bacteria are alive and well. Cooking kills bacteria, so you are just eating an insane amount of dead bacteria everyday- nice thought!! I still can't imagine that kind of warning on a pizza- how silly. I can't even believe the chainsaw warning! Why would anyone try to use their private parts to stop a chainsaw!!

Its like the warnings on some microwaves about not putting live things in the microwave because some woman put her dog in the microwave after giving it a bath to dry it and of course it DIED!!! So she sued the microwave company and WON!!

Will wonders never cease??

Think its ok to eat store bought cookie dough rather than your own because of the eggs have been treated??? I bet a bear would eat a frozen pizza!!
