It's "Tax Time" and I decided to bring this to light.

This puts it all into perspective!

Actually this has been my big gripe with the world lately. There is not such thing as customer service anymore (unless you count the "cow" type mentioned above!) Since when do I have to pay a company to pay them?? ($10 service charge to pay by phone, $2.50 to pay on the internet, etc. in addition to the new $3.50 admin fee that they never explained) God forbid you ever have a dispute with a company or they lose your payment - that's your problem and they will do nothing to resolve it. Just send more money - apparently everyone has enough money to send double payments when they mess up.

Sorry about the rant - this just really gets me that we as the consumers get "serviced" at every given opportunity by the companies.

OMG!!! That is hilarious!!!!

Heidi - I know exactly what you mean, about a year or so ago, we bought a new leather suite on finance - we set up the direct debit there and then, to start going out of my account about a fortnight later...... anyway, after about four months I got a letter from the finance company saying, they'd made a mistake in setting up the direct debit, could I now please send them a cheque for the four months worth of DD's they hadn't taken!!! Oh YEAH...... I've got £400 just laying around with nothing better to do... of course!! (I didn't notice it hadn't been going out cos it was an account I didn't use much). Anyway, I tried and tried to get them to just start the DD from then... but no.... they even suggested borrowing the money from a family member!!!

I sent for some floppy disks, a "premium" for being such a good credit card customer. (I had paid it off and haven't charged anything for a year; that's why!) I enclosed a check to cover the s and h and wrote on the check-"for computer disks." They credited my account instead of accepting payment!
One month later, they charged my account for most of them, and mailed me a check for the balance. I called and told them I would not cash the check because it was their money! The next month, they charged me for the remaining disks AND a late charge of about $20. I called. The whole transaction, paid in full, was only $29 !! Then I went to the hospital for a month. When I got out, they had charged me late charges again. I called, paid an extra $10 to pay this over the phone. They dropped the late charges. Nice of them.
p.s. My computer can't read the disks!

I was really "serviced" by Fingerhut. They're really good at that sort of thing.

The customer service they provide makes sense now after this.

Hey now! I am a civil servant! I take pride in my job. I always try to provide excellent quality service. I do agree, however that most people in service industries don't seem to care. But I do - honestly!
