Here is a link to my other big cat, as in Arctic Cat.
This picture is from this weekend at a speed run on a lake in Wisconsin. I won the class I was in with a speed of 92.4mph from a standing start in 1000 ft. The snowmobile is a 1994 Arctic Cat Wildcat. I also have a vintage 1971 Arctic Cat Puma.

Yvonne has a video of one of my runs but I have no idea how to post a video so others can see it.

Oh wow that is soooo cool! I always love watching people who snowmobile really fast, and the snow goes spraying everywhere and it looks like so much fun!! CONGRATS on winning the race, too!!!!

92mph though - on a snowmobile - whoa, not for me
, I'd be afraid of falling off or something..

And does the older one still work, or do you just keep it for show??

Hi, There are stock snowmobiles that go much faster than 92 mph in 1000ft. Some of the newer big ones will go 115mph or better. They had one fully modified Arctic Cat there that hit 154mph in 1000ft.

Yes my old Puma runs, I drive it all the time. I just got it this winter from my brother and I did allot to fix it up.

My Buick car is a wilder ride in a 1/4 mile drag race than my snowmobile is. My car is faster in 660ft than my snowmobile is in 1000ft.

I have a 72 Skylark that is made into a GSX clone. It has a 455 stage1 motor with allot of go fast stuff in it. The best it ran so far was 11:31 at 116 mph with a best 60ft of 1.489. This was still on pump gas and only 9.7 to 1 compression, a .520 lift hydraulic cam, 4.10 gears and 29.5-10.5 slicks. The car is full weight and still drive it on the street.

I have just got a set of well ported iron heads to put on it for this year. I am going to a better cam also. The car the heads came off of was running in the mid tens till a rod let go. Most of the Buick guys I talk with tell me that I should be high tens with these heads on my car. But I would be happy to get to real low 11s but then if I do that then I will want that first 10:99 time slip lol.

Sounds awesome! Low low 60ft... launches hard.
I'm going with a set Eddi RPM heads (1.90 intake valves so I can use the stock bottom end and... they're aluminum w00t!), Comp cam... it's a .512 226 deg. split cam, and if I can afford it, a RPM series intake mani. Let's see... 3.73s in the rear on some 245 drag radials and on the stock WC T5 tranny... should be interesting! Likes I said... setup should be good for high 11s/low 12s but at my altitude (4500 ft) I'll be happy with mid/high 12s. Eventually I'll go with a single turbo setup...but that's far off. Good luck racing!

Thats fast!!! I was surprised to find out my little Kawaski Bayou ATV can go 55 mph-too fast for me!!
We have well known Wisconsin (I think) snowmobile racers living about a 1 1/2 down the road-the Ludwigs???
Do you go up to the races in Eagle River??
