Okay, I mentioned this moments ago in the "Kitten Jones" thread... I've been thinking about it for a while now... seeing how there've been others in other areas... I think we have enough folks here to warrant at least a small gathering... it would be cool if folks from the rest of Illinois could come too... but I know I don't have a car, so getting out there would be a chore.

Any ideas anyone?

Count me in! I know that Kelly/clixpix and Julianna/OllyExtra05 and I are all on the north side (I actually live like 4 blocks away from the LP Petsmart!)....I'm also car-less, so if we do this, it needs to be accessible via CTA

Okay... apparently I can't edit to put up a poll... darn.

Okay, what would everyone want to do?
1. gather for drinks?
2. dinner?
3. coffeeshop to just chat and share stories?
4. head to the Lincoln Park Zoo to spend a (cold) afternoon looking at the big kitties, with lunch before or dinner after?
5. brunch at Orange (there's two, I think)
6. there's a cool little tea shop off of Belmont.
7.(your own suggestion here)

Any ideas/choices?

I live, literally, within stone throwing distance of the zoo...

We could also do Ann Sather...any of the 3 or 4 locations would be fine. Or any of the 6,000 little cafes or lunch spots around here...

I miss Chicago and their wonderful snow removal system.

Would you believe I have never been to Chicago? Even after living here my whole life?
I don't know if I could make it, seeing as it's almost 4 hours from me. Sounds like fun, though!

Hmm, I would vote for meeting for lunch/brunch on a weekend.
My favorite places on the Northside are Melrose Diner (Belmont/Broadway) and Nookies- there's one at Halsted/Diversey and one at Halsted btwn Belmont and Addison.

Hmm, now I want pancakes!

I live in the NW burbs, but have a car and access to Metra (a mere few yards from my door), so I'm flexible to meet on a weekend, most anywhere.

This sounds good. I've never been there, so it'll be my first time eating there.

Brunch is good with me, so, what, about 11am? 1pm?

So, what day? Saturdays are fine with me... Sunday's are okay, except the second Sunday each month (i run some writer's meetups from meetup.com).

So, here's some options:
March 11
March 18
March 19
March 25
March 26
or we can go into April...

Could we look at April? I'll be out of town for awhile and I'm swamped between now and then. But, unfortunately, if we go to April, I can only do Sundays...

Hey all...I live in Wisconsin...Well Racine Wisc anyhow, but I'm about an hour away from chicago. Not far at all. I could so totally go. Would you all accept a wisconsin'er like me? lol.

April 9th is my b-day...so either that would be my birthday fun, or I couldnt make it that day..I dont have plans yet for that date.

What is the name of the place we're talking about here?

I would love to meet everyone! I attend church services on Sunday, so can we do an afternoon? I am pretty near Metra, but would probably just drive down so I can get there quicker!

I'm not familiar with those places, so whatever works for you is fine by me!

That would be a very hectic day for all of us if we did.
Could you imagine the cat fights?

And if you're serious about going...lol...You'd drive from Massachusetts?? That's a TCS super supporter right there if you ask me.
