The Kitten "Jones"

It seems every year, for the past four years, around this time of year, I get the kitten Jones!!!
I feel like I want to get another kitten, and if I don't get one, I might die!
Fortunately, the rational side of my brain realizes that my two cats are quite happy as they are and we don't need to add another member to possibly complicate our family. Last year, we "found" Emma right as my "kitten Jones" was kicking in and, even though she wasn't a kitten exactly, it seemed to have soothed the savage beast!

I just think its so funny that it seems to happen around February and March. I wonder if its a hormonal thing? Maybe the reason I want kittens is because this is the time of year I should be, excuse the phrase, mating?
If so, my kitten Jones has about 5 years left before I can satisfy the reproductive urge.

Does this happen to anyone else or am I a total lunatic.

My kitten jones lasts all year. What does that say about me?!

If this is the case, my kitten jones will be around for 10-12 more years...I wonder how many cats I'll have by the end of that decade...

I'm always on the lookout.... but yeah, this time of year tends to be worse for me - you're not the only lunatic!!

I get that too!!! Then again I also get a bunny jones, a rat jones, a ferret baby jones.......

I think my kitten jones happens in the fall the strongest. Although I get smaller urges year round. I, too, have several years left, if it's a 'mating age' thing. I get new kitty urges like that every time I walk into Petsmart up in Lincoln Park. or when someone here shows some rescues... especially when they're here in the Chicago area...

And I expect to see all the Chicago TCSers who can make it out there on the walk! Yay!

I always want kittens!

Apparently though, my group will be expanding to 7 after I move this summer.
My folks know a retired couple with a 1-2 year old male cat, but they are snowbirds and are feeling guilty for keeping him cooped up in an RV, so my folks volunteered me to adopt him

I've been wondering if we should have a Chicago TCS gathering. Maybe I shoudl post something on its own... though I don't know what we'd do...

my kitten "jones" seems to be strongest around this time of year, and again in the fall - maybe it IS hormonal, since most mammals are reproducing during those times. What an interesting thought - I'd love to see some scientific research about that topic!
