First I sometimes see my kitty with her mouth partially open and a weird look on her face, is she panting?? It's cold outside and not very warm in the house, I just wanted to know what this is.
Second, when I sit in the living room she sits in another room, under the table/chairs, she doesn't come into the other room frequently and I usually have to pick her up and carry her in there. This behavior is very weird to me, she usually won't come when called. Anything I can do to help with this?? Any ideas anyone please tell me!!! Thanks.

Hmmm...I'm not sure about your second and third questions, but as far as sitting with her mouth open, does she sound congested? Cats also smell though their mouths so it could be that. I'm sure someone will answer with better knowledge of your questions than me soon.

Sometimes when a cat comes across something that's REALLY smelly, they drop their mouths open and look spaced out for a few moments. They're simply "absorbing" the smell, learning about it. I get a big kick out of it, plus they're my "pee-testers." If I come across a book with a stain on it, I give it to any of the cats and if they drop their mouths open, I know it's pee. Willow has a habit of peeing in boxes and lots of my books are in boxes, so...

That look right after they smelled something is a clue for me that "dirty butt" FAng was sitting there and I need to wipe it. How long have you had your kitty? any other cats in the house? Has she ever been abused? I think if you call her, and she doesn't come, go get her and bring her to sit with you. If she gets up, go get her again and sit her with you, praising and petting at the seme time. Do this a couple times a night every night and eventually she should come to you voluntarily for praise and pets. You could brush her gently if she likes that, you could offer treats. Once she realizes sitting with you is a good thing, she will volunteer to do so. Always be gentle, never forceful, and after two tries a night let it go.

I have 3 cats and they each make that funny face on occasion. Usually after they've sniffed the other one's bottom, or if they smell something on the floor.
It's sooo funny, how they get that primative look on their faces!!

Not sure about the other two questions.

Good luck.

As for the mouth partially open with the weird look...mine usually do it after they've sniffed something they don't understand, or find unusual.

As far as not coming when called, don't worry...most cats don't. I wouldn't pick her up and bring her into the room with you though. It actually encourages a cat to continue hiding. They very much demand independence. Kinda an "I'll come when I'm darn good and ready!" attitude. If you pick her up and bring her with you, you're taking away the freedom cats so greatly need. Leave her alone, let her come when she wants, and she'll start coming around more often.
