I guess the mystery continues then
I am still wondering thou
I only feed my cats dry food.....NO canned. I fed them a can or two of the tuna canned and the cats smelled up the whole house when they took a poop....Peeeew
so I went back to the dry only
and they only poop once a day
Let me know what you find out Sharky

Hey can I chime in here and ask someone to compare the pros and cons of Chicken Soup to Solid Gold?

chn soup is a good food that I am currently feeding my feral... It is very meaty in comparison to solid gold though the protein and fat % ages arent reflective of this... chn soup is often much cheaper ... head to head I would be more likely to use chn soup than solid gold... price , avail and amount of meats vs grain are all in chn soups favor ... solid gold would be favorable if a cat has allergy issues since it uses lamb and chn with a small amount of fish ...

I used to feed my cats Chicken Soup and my cats loved it
It is just more inconvenient for me to buy it while the Solid Gold is sold by my Vet for cheaper than the chain stores. If you buy the small 2 pound bags of Chicken Soup it comes out to a dollar a pound which is dirt cheap for a quality food
I you remember Sharky.........ask them what the purpose of so much "grain" in the food........Just curious.....Thanks!

ok thanks guys, I am always looking for better food or reassurance there are no new discoveries that the food I feed my cats is suddenly a bad choice. So thanks. They have no allergy problems and eat whatever I give them and I usually switch between Chicken Soup and Authority. I don't like Authority too much just in last minute times if we are out of cat food and right near PetSmart. Otherwise I stick to Chicken Soup.

I got some intresting info ...

Solid Gold NO longer has garlic ... the bags may say it but that is just an old bag .... the reason it has so many grains is that it was formulated off the dog and tweaked to a cat profile ....

Great news ... I have a dog on Bark at the moon she eats raw for 75-85% of her diet and dry for 10% ... I switched her to Bark at the moon cause it is cheaper ( from my vet) and had inmp beter ingrediants than the two foods she had been eating... Well my Zoey sneaks into the dogs dish... so I asked if a low to no grain cat food was coming and IT IS ... She couldnt give me a solid time but she thought within 6 months and definately within 12

ohh and for the dog folks .. Bark at the Moon s dry matter omega 6 is 3.8 and the omega 3 is .5

Thanks a ton Sharkey
You gotta respect the company for improvement
Do you feel that they were being honest with you? I will stick with it and alternate Solid Gold with another dry food and some wet food for a treat
Thanks again.

Thats cool to hear that there will be a lower grain higher meat solid gold. I will look foward to getting that! So far solid gold has been a miracle for my little IBS girl..she will ONLY eat hard kibble. no matter what i have tried. and this is the one that really agrees with her. and everyone else likes it too.
