Hi! I'm making a CD with, well I don't want to say seductive songs, that sounds bad, but songs by like Enigma, Enya, Norah Jones, Mazzy Star and the like. Not really like love songs, but songs to cuddle to.
I only have a few, does anyone know some that would be good to add that sound similar? Thanks!

I'd say some Dido songs for sure. Portishead comes to mind too.

I'm listening to Alison Krauss right now - that's pretty good music to cuddle to.

I'm not sure I've explained right? I mean more of like the artists I mentioned, Enya, Enigma, etc...more like almost wordless "trancelike" songs. Music you can just chill out and not have to think to, like when you put in a relaxation CD of Celtic or classical or along those lines. I know Mazzy Star's song "Fade into you" has words, but she has such a soothing voice, I just listen to the sound of her voice, not the words, the same with Norah Jones' "Come away with me." Does that help?

Seal has some beautiful songs, that are beautiful even if you tune out the lyrics.

The soundtrack to a movie called The Village (an O.K. kind of weird movie) is all classical. There are some more upbeat ones, but a lot of them are very soothing and have beautiful violin solos and stuff.

Good one Karen!!

Seal has a great song.."Love's Devine" and "Kiss from a Rose" those are more romantic than sexy..but very good songs

The song "who makes you feel" by Dido would go very well on your CD.

Ahhhhh...Norah Jones! I just love her voice and she is actually on my computer, singing right now!
"Come Away With Me" is a beautiful song... "Shoot the Moon" and "The Long Day is Over are also SO beautiful and mellow to listen to...
Hope you find the songs you are looking for! I downloaded these songs and they are now on my own CD I made!

If you go to BMG Music website, you can sample (listen) to artists' songs. They also will show you similar artists' music.

Thanks, that helps so I don't download a bunch of stuff I don't know and then hate it!

Check out DJ Sammy, he has a lot of songs that i think would fit. Also, Rascal Flatts have some very mellow and sweet songs. Might want to check out the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Anggun will also fit what you're looking for. She's has a couple french albums, but Snow on the Sahara was an AWESOME album and it's in english.

Hope that helps.

I agree that Dido would be a good addition! How about Sarah McLachlan & Frou Frou, they are both favorites of mine? I have a few Sarah M Cds, but I just recently discovered Frou Frou... I love "Let Go", "Breathe In" & "It's Good to Be in Love", well the whole CD is really great! If you scroll down, you can listen to samples here... Frou Frou.

You can go to Walmart.com and check out music there too. They have a short download for Windowsmedia and then you can check out any artist and listen to a snippet of their songs before you would download it (for 88cents per song)! I have made so many great CD's this way, and hope you can find the songs you really do like!

It sounds like you'r elooking for the song "Nocturn" by Kate Bush.

What else?

Portishead....I second that. Also, Bjork, especially off of her Vespertine album would be great. Cat Power, Iron and Wine, Joanna Newsom, Nick Drake, Radiohead (especially off of Kid A and OK Computer) and the Amelie Soundtrack by Yann Tiersen. All of my suggestions are EXTREMELY diverse in terms of genre, but it's all really mellow, relaxed and kind of ambient music that's good to chill to, although most of it has lyrics. Not that you really notice.

If you want some REALLY ambient music with no lyrics and mostly electronic....Aphex Twin also has some good stuff.

If you want classical suggestions....I'm your girl
