Good morning everyone

I'm in a strangely nice mood today
which got me to thinking, when was the last time I was really nice to someone? So I'm curious as to what good deeds everyone has done recently

The time that comes to mind for me is: I was on my way home from work about a month ago(we all know how we feel after work and fighting traffic
), driving down my street I see a car with a set of keys laying on the trunk. Nobody was around or outside, so at first I was like, some idiot is going to be looking for those keys in the morning
but as I proceded down the street I got to thinking, man I hope nobody sees those keys laying there and takes off with their car. So I turned around and drove back down the street. There still was'nt anyone around, so I got out, picked the keys up and guessed as to what house they belonged to. So I walk up, knock, knock, and knock some more to the point where I'm about to say forget it! When a little (I mean little) old lady comes to the door, she had to be at least 85-90- so I ask her if the little gray car outside is hers, she says yes-so then I say, well i think you left your keys and handed them to her. She was soo happy
she said she had went to the store earlier (am) I mean this was like 5 pm, and luckily no one wanted to steal a car that day, because that would have been too easy.I'm so happy I decided to turn back around because normally I woul'nt have and to this day I still feel all warm inside when I think about how happy this women was, and that I had prevented her from a HUGE headache of dealing with her car being stolen or looking for her keys all day.

So come on, spill it- when was the last time you were nice

That is very nice!

I always try to be polite. We as a society are getting less polite. I always try to say please and thank you and hold doors for people and try to help people reach things in the grocery store, etc. Last week I helped an elderly gentleman find a specific item he was looking for. Aaron and I try to help the elderly woman across the street shovel her driveway, etc.

Last year Aaron and I were at a restaurant celebrating after buying this house. Apparently the people at the next table heard us and when it came time to pay the bill, we learned that they had paid it for us. They had left, so we didn't get to thank him. To sort of pay back their kindness to us, for the next few times we went out to eat, we left exhorbitant tips.

COOL! That was really sweet of them

I try to say excuse me, thank you etc... as well. Everyone is gettin a little too inconsiderate these days. I admit to being quite snippy at times, so when I catch myself I try and make sure to turn it around and be nice. It just feel better

I love being polite to people (who deserve it!!) Only because all day at work -I have so many rude people, and I know how it feels to be treated that way

Last night at VS - there was a girl trying on a really super cute sweatshirt that she wanted, and I was shopping near by and I told her that those shirts shrink really bad so she might want to get a size bigger
I know I love when people give me shopping tips! (Especially on something that costs a lot!)

My grilfriend is a neat freak. She keeps her house very neat and clean, and has it decorated beautifully. She got the flu, and was extremely tired and was very bothered that her house was "a disaster". Her Mom lives really near her, but always seems to help out her sisters, but never my friend. I think she just seems so independent that everyone thinks she can do it all.

Well, last Sunday afternoon, my daughter, her daughter and I did a quick cleaning. The girls picked up and dusted, and I vacuumed the entire house, and swept the tile floors. We even moved her kitchen table and vacuumed and shook the rug underneath. Since she has 2 dogs and a medium to long haired kitty, it was pretty furry! LOL! And she has allergies, not specifically to the pets, but she did NOT need to be vacuuming, or living in a hairy house. It took us 1-1/2 hours, but I know it made all of us feel a lot better!

Nice things for a stranger...the last thing I can think of is at Duncan Donuts in the drive through. There was a cop behind me, so I paid for his breakfast. I live in a small quiet town, so its not like the police by me have a really hard job, but they are very good. So I thought it was a little way of saying thanks.

We went bowling two weeks ago and there was a little boy at the food counter and he didn't have enough moneyfor what he wanted. I paid the rest for him. He was to darn cute not to have enough money!

Today while walking Pushy I noticed trash on my neighbour's lawn. So when I'd finished the walk, I went out and picked it up for her.

Awww, I bet that put a smile on that little boy's face all day! Nothing like a child's smile!

How incredibly sweet of you to do that!

I found a libary card the other day just in the streets and I handed it back to the libary. I know it's nothing big, but it made me feel good. I'm always very grateful when people return cards that i've lost.

Thursday night I ate with some of my girlfriends at a diner after class in my old neighborhood in Chicago. I was on my way back to my car to head across town and go home, and there was an elderly, seemingly homeless man, who appeared to be blind and was begging for change. Now, I don't normally like giving homeless people change, because I never can trust that the money is going to be used wisely. But I had half of my dinner left over in a doggie bag, as did my friend Sara, so we offered to give him our leftovers. He decided he didn't want my salad
but he gladly took Sara's 1/2 of a ham and cheese club sandwich and fries.

I have cut out all of these paper hearts, and once or twice a week at school, I secretly tape them to a teaher's door. One or two of the hearts has a message telling her how geat a teacher she is, etc. The heart is signed CELIA, which is my middle name (ALICE) all scrambled.
I've been doing this for 3 weeks and have pasted the hearts on 5 teachers' doors so far.
Ssshhhh, it's a secret!
