new cat

my female kitten which is 6 weeks old has a very big belly is this normal she was wormed only last week so it cant be that .she was only skin and bones when i got her a week ago she had been dumped but i am worried how fat she got so quick, can anyone help me with this .

It is possible that it is worms... what was the worm treatment you used? did your vet give it to you? Have you spoken to the vet?

I agree most kittens are born with worms. I would contact your vet about this.
Worms are cyclical and both the existing worms and the eggs need to be killed in your cat's body.

Yes it can still be worms - its standard to de-worm 2 to 3 times each one 2 weeks apart.
