My unspayed female cat is almost 1 year old and has been in heat for the last couple of months. I have been planning to make an appointment to get her spayed, but have not yet done so. She got outside the other day while the repairman was fixing the washing machine, going in and outside without shutting the door! (one of the reasons i have not been able to get her spayed yet)
She was only outside for about 20 mins, but there were male cats living under our house throughout the time she'd been in heat.
Now a few weeks later, I've noticed her nipples feel strangely. I can't say that they are different than normal though, because until now I have never felt them. I was worried about her being pregnant and decided to feel around, and noticed lumps under her nipples. I immediately wondered if they could be tumors, but began reading on here about nipples enlarging during pregnancy. But it doesn't seem to be the enlarging that you guys mentioned.. like I said, it feels like there is a lump beneath every nipple. Is that what you guys meant, or should I take her to the vet to get checked for tumors?

Ashley...I think it would be a good idea to take her to the vet. The vet can confirm whether she is or isn't pregnant. If she is indeed pregnant, I would recommend that she be kept indoors only for the duration of her pregnancy. If she is not pregnant, now would be a good time to have her spayed. Please let us know what you vet says.
