Rocket has not been a happy cat since Tommy left. Well, OK, I miss him, too -- but I don't go about the house yowling and driving my human nuts.
So I finally broke down and got Rocket a new pal:

He had his vet check-up and came home yesterday. He was positive for roundworms, so he's in isolation until that gets cleared up. I think Rocket and Mellie know something's up, though. I'm sure they can hear him, even through two closed doors.

He's between three and four years old. He was adopted twice before. The first adopter brought him back because their child developed an allergy. The second adopter brought him back because they didn't like him jumping on the counter.
Hopefully the third time is the charm. He has a very nice personality toward people. It seemed like he got along well with the other cats at the shelter. But of course, that's no predictor of how he'll do here when the resident cats have an established territory. We'll just have to take it real slow.

No name, yet. Any suggestions are welcome.

Oh my!!

What a sweetie he is! I love that second picture!

I'm sure you will come up with a great name, or he'll name himself!

Congratulations Tim.

I am sure that you will use all of your expertise to help with the intro to Rocket & Millie.
He really is beautiful. I love the rings on his tail.
I thought of Rocky because of Rocky Raccoon but that may sound to much like Rocket.
I think that Smudge is a cute name.

I like the name "Rocky" but you're right, it's too close to Rocket.

"Lucky" might be a good name for your handsome new boy.
After all..."3rd times charm."

Tim, that's great news! He looks like a real sweetie! I'm so happy for you! How about "Spaghetti-O?"
Otherwise the name Arthur popped into my head...

You see how he's holding his left front foot in the last photo? I've noticed he has a habit of holding it up like this when he's sitting up. It looks so cute.

Here... or There... Hmmm
He's so cute!!! As soon as I saw him for some reason the name Max came to mind, which is odd for me cuz I have never named an animal a real people name! I like Jelly! I had a kitty named Jelly Bean cuz when he was born him little belly was purple!
