It has only been recently that Willow has been comfortable to go outside with us! (he was very scared to be out there, but has realised that things are actually quite fun!)

Willow spent most of his time following Molly around, chasing her lead!!
Funny thing is that Molly didn't particularly mind!

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Oooh! That looks like so much fun! I wish we had a garden so I could get the little monsters outside. Thats good that he's been out though, maybe he'll come out more.
Maybe its got something to do with where he came from?

How do you get them to walk on leads? My Maggie May will only walk without one, if I put one on her she refuses to move.

Sarah those are brilliant!!

Rosie and Sophie have a harness and when i take them out in the summer they stand still for a while before moving a couple of inches, then a few more inches until they feel comfortable enough to go sniffing around like Molly and Willow, but the minute they hear a noise their running straight back into the house

Claire, i hold onto my harnesses and walk with them, when they decide to that is

He was in and out like a yoyo at first!
He went in and I could hear him shouting from upstairs, so he came out again and loved it!

Yes, I do think it might have something to do with where he came from!
I think he might have felt that as I was taking him outside I was going to leave him there
Poor baby!

Yes, they're on a dog peg! I never leave them unattended and we don't have trouble from the other cats - as the three of them will scare them off at first glimpse! We also have a great routine for getting back in the house if anything is scary!

It would be lovely if you could get your Mum to let you harness train your kitties - I know they would love it!

It takes quite a lot of time and patience to get them used to their harnesses in doors, building up the time they wear it, then adding the lead! There are a few threads in Care and Grooming that might help you with the training!

Tibby initially got floppy legs when he first had his harness on!
You'd have thought I'd strapped a ten tonne weight to his back the way he'd flop!

Awww, bless Rosie and Sophie!
The more often they get to go out, the more comfortable they will become!
I think it takes quite a while to get used to the sounds too!!

At least they definitely know how to get back into the house!

That was one of the reasons why i started taking them out, just incase they slipped out and couldn't recognise the smells to get back home

Susan, it's a very good idea too!
Once Molly got me tangled in her lead and I accidentally let go! She went straight to the door - I was so proud of her! (it was at my parents' too and she remembered!)

Danielle, it's classic, isn't it?!! You should see my grass now!

Linda, they are very similar, aren't they?!! Beautiful tabbies!

Thank you, Karen!

Claire, they're the fully adjustable H shaped ones! They go round their necks and behind their front legs with the piece attaching the two! (You can get them in Jollyes and Pets at Home)

To make it easier too, when I put the harness on and am happy with the size, I mark the harness so I know where to set it each time!

I managed to get three colours in it and matched it with their extender leads!
