The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
We brought a Cat-It water fountain last year and nobody really drinks from it. Sleeves will lie beside it and watch it for hours but thats about it. When I remember I turn it off because I think it just wastes electricity being on but as soon as I turn it off, Sleeves sits beside it miaowing so back on it goes....
Recently, during the night and now even during the day he will frantically scratch at the dome. He actually looks upset while he's doing it. Its getting on my nerves at night because it is in the bedroom, we don't have anywhere else to put it. Last night I got up and turned it off but he still scratched at it.
When he starts doing this you have to physically pick him up and take him away because he gets so crazy about scratching it.
I just don't get it? There have been many nights now where I have wanted to throw the thing out the window so I can sleep but he seems to find it comforting?
Is he trying to catch the water? Has anybody elses cat ever done this?

Maybe he does find the water soothing in some way? Although, I don't quite know why he would scratch at it?!

Tibby and Molly didn't touch their Cat-It for ages! When Willow arrived, he went straight to it and they've all been using it ever since! Molly tends to watch it like Sleeves though - only seen her touch it with her nose!

I saw on of these at Stapely Water Gardens and nearly bought one.

But hubby looked at me as if a was mad so i had to put it back on the shelf
Had he not been there i would have bought it for my spoilt hooligans.

It looked good fun but is it noisy?

You live near Stapely?!
I haven't seen the fountains when I've been there?! Is there a better pet section now?

The only time they're really noisy is when some of the water has evaporated and it sort of chuggs and gurgles!
