Mo(w)gli was 9 months old when we adopted him and knew his name, so we kept it. I'm not particularly fond of the name.

I've got 2 girls trinity kept her name even thought she was only 8 weeks it has stuck although I mainly call her baby girl I adopted maple from the RSPCA she was 2 years old I changed her name slightly from mable - maple I didn't want to confuse her and if you mix her colours together it would sorta look like maple syrup

Hello! I am new to this site and not quite sure how to go about this, but I am trying to come up with a name for our new kitten. She is approximately 12 weeks old ( we rescued her). I will try and attach a pic of her. She is sweet, and yet she hasn't learned how to completely trust us yet. Someone dumped her off at our church and I took her as soon as I laid eyes on her! Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated! [emoji]128568[/emoji]

Ok, so the other thread about why we chose the names we did made me wonder. I adopted my cats for the shelter I volunteer at so they had names when I adopted them. I either didn't like the names or it didn't fit (depending on the cat.) So what I want to know is did you change your cats names & if so what were they before you got them?

Levi was Orion

Jordan was Grover

Isaac was Fitzgerald

Maggie was Tango
Some of mine were already named...

Peanut was Peanut... kept that one.

Roscoe was Menew

Jazzpurr was Olie

Simon was Pooh
I ran across your post and was wondering if you could give me some advice on naming our new kitten?! I'm new to this site and not quite sure how everything works lol. But I am having a harder time naming this kitten for some reason. Nothing is coming to mind (nothing that suits her, anyway) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

aww @TaraLynn  your little kitty is so ADORABLE!!!

how long have you had her? you don't have to name her right away, maybe spend more time with her and then see what would fit her.

I would take the narcissistic route and name her "miss jr" ahhahaha. sorry. that was probably very corny.

I wish you good luck on naming her!

a lot of people name their cats after their favorite character in a book, movie or tv show...that's something to consider

Xena's shelter name was Peaches.. for a baby Russian Blue.. it didn't fit her. So we chose Xena because she flew around the house, pouncing jumping and darting- plus all the play biting and roughousing, it just made sense.. Xena the Wonder Cat (I had initially toyed with the name Small Wonder , which got shortened to just "Wonder" and so Xena the Wonder Cat seemed to fit..... :)
So you just need to watch her personality and see what she does. Btw.. we had that same cube for our old cat.. It's great

We have had her for about 3 weeks now. She has never had a name, and since she was just "dumped" making her feel like she isn't worth loving, I think she deserves the best name I can give her!! She is finally coming around to us...letting us show her more love :) And Jack (our year+ old cat) has taken her under his wing! It's precious!! Thank you for the advice. I do appreciate it and I will keep you updated and let you know the name we decide on!

Luna was unnamed when we got her but we were originally planning to pick a male from the litter and we were going to call him Freddie.

When we picked up Jessie I asked if she already had a name. It was Fifi. Definitely didn't suit her!
