If you've been married or are planning to get married, what was/will be your first dance song with your spouse at the reception?

Oh Amy, it really depends on what song(s) is (are) special to you, but. . .

My ex and I are huge Eric Clapton fans, and it was only natural that we chose "Wonderful Tonight" for our first dance. Very romantic. I still love the pic of our first dance, even though he's no longer in my life. Captured a very special moment.

A song most people on here probably haven't heard. It's by a group called Anointed and called 'Not the I, but the You In Me.' DH and I don't dance, not seriously anyway, so we really didn't have a song before then. But I'd loved that song forever and all, so one night about 2 weeks before our wedding I was listening to Cd's with my sister and making favors and things and I put that song on and started crying. I wasn't sure it was really wedding material, but my sister told me if I was crying, it must be the one, because I never cry like that! The song came out when I was probably still in junior high, but I'll see if I can find a web page or something....

ok here is a link to thier web page... http://www.anointedonline.com/

I love reading about how people came to choosing their first dance songs
.
Right now it's down between "Your Song" by Elton John (he's always playing that for me) and "Crazy Love" by Van Morrison just because we both love Van Morrison. It's hard to decide this b/c it's a moment we want to get just right!

I'm not really engaged or anything, but I KNOW that Ian and I will have a really hard time deciding between Ben Folds "The Luckiest" and ROlling Stones "Wild Horses"

"The Luckiest" was one of the songs we were thinking of, but I can't hear it without crying like an idiot, and I figured (correctly) that I was not going to need any incentive to be a blubbering idiot.

We picked Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes.

It's funny that I found this post tonight... I'm desperately trying to find a first dance song for our wedding. If anyone else has any suggestions, I'll be stopping in to take a peek!

Yeah, those two songs sort of defined our "getting together" period.

I also have the Ben Folds hook-up:

(I'm all the way on the right, Ian is 2nd from left)

Our song was "Feels So Right" by Alabama. It is a wonderful song, too bad it doesn't feel so right anymore!

We chose a song called "Sweet Avenue" by Jets To Brazil because it had special meaning to us. The lyrics fit us pretty well and DH used it at one point to woo me while we were dating.
And it wasn't too fast - we're not very good dancers!

Ours will be "My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw. That song completely sums up what he means to me
He always sings it back to me, so I think maybe he feels the same

Tanya, that would be one of my top choices as well! Such a perfect song. Too bad Bradley tunes out all of the sappy country ballads
