My fiance and I had our engagement celebration this weekend.
It consisted of going to two Nine Inch Nails concerts. Which were both AWESOME. I have said it before and I will say it many times again, Trent Reznor is a rock GOD. lol
We went to Lexington (Rupp Arena) and Cincinnati (US Bank Arena). I must say that Rupp is a class act. The security people were cool, we got to wait inside out of the cold, and it was very organized. US Bank, not so much.
We had great seats for the Lexington show, which we got through the fan club. And we got to hear the sound check through the doors. We were going to get in to see the sound check and the meet the band (they've been doing this for the fan club folks at a lot of shows) but at the last minute they decided not to.
We were really disappointed...they got us all built up like we were going to get in and then didn't do it. Maybe the band wasn't feeling up to it or something. Eh, there'll be another time.
Our seats were on the right side, middle of the 2nd row, right next to the stage. Great view of the stage.
Our seats for Cincy weren't as good. We bought them 2 hours before the show and were in the front row of the upper level, toward the back of the arena on the right. It was neat to see the show from a different place, but our Lex seats were MUCH better.
I think the best moment of the weekend was at Cincy during "Hurt" when the whole crowd was singing, and you could hear them over Trent. It was an incredible moment during a very powerful song.
The set lists varied a bit, and we got some really cool moments. I am still reeling from the experience.
What a way to celebrate our engagement!!
