We've always had two cats. Males. We lost our old cats quite close together and ended up with two female cats. Now we're pulling out all the stops and are going for a third cat to play brother two the girls. Gonna spoil them rotten!

Well as most of you know i have two, because i wanted another as a playmate and company for Rosie while i was at work

I really wanted a 3rd, but my vet advised me not to because she thinks it would stress Rosie out again seeing as it took her nearly a year to get back to normal with me

I even had her name picked out as well

Movin' on up!
I've almost always been multi-cat. I figure that the cats need company, while I'm at work all day. At times, I have had up to six cats.

For three months, Opie was an only cat but a stop at the Humane Society's mobile adoption RV at the Pima County Fair ended that.

A year after Rowdy joined us, I stopped in at the Humane Society, just to "look around". Buddy has been affixed to my left hip, ever since.

Due to my lease, I am now maxed out.

I'm a Multi cat person. I have had 7 at one time. I usually have 5 which I have right now. I just enjoy the company of cats and love a purr so with 5 one is always ready for some purring.

I have always been a one cat person. Growing up, we always had one cat. Then I found Miss Kitty, and a few days later she popped out Festus and the rest of her litter. And I started fostering. Now I have 3 cats, and I really enjoy watching them interact. I also have more cats outside, but three inside is a good number. (The inside cats don't go out, and the barn cats don't come in!)

About a month ago, with fosters, I was up to 11. That is too many cats for me, although I miss those little baby fuzzy faces! I'm out of fostering for the time being...

Multi cat person. At one time (back in the '80s) we had about 30 on our property. But our area is much busier and the coffers are meager, so we are keeping it to two.

There are two living with me now. I fostered for awhile, but the last cat I had was so determined to be top cat that she burned us all out on any other cats. I also take care of eleven feral/stray cats in the garden of the apartment building I live in.

Definately multi cat. Along with the family of 5 in my Siggy, we have an older female, Bonnie. We also feed a family of 3 ferals who "adopted" us.

I have had something similar happen to me as well.

We took in a stray back in October. We called her Topaz because of her blue topaz eyes. She's white with black and cream spots. I haven't got any good pics of her, yet. She has adopted Mom and sleeps with her.

I remember reading about topaz a few months ago. I always wondered how she turned out. Glad to hear she's doing well.

I'm a multi-cat person. I figure it to be because growing up, we never had inside cats though I always wanted some, and when I finally moved out, I overcompensated for that. I think it's cuz I'm alone, too, and I try to surround myself with things that love me, because I have no man for that. Maybe that's why I have no man!!!

I started out a one-cat person, I guess basically because I was a one-pet person, and hadn't had much if any experience of multi-pet households. Shasta was an only cat for 14 years, and I never really thought much about it, until a colleague needed to rehome her two boys. I felt drawn to this situation, and we decided to give it a go, and the rest is history. I love to have several. I love the interaction. We've been down to one twice since then, but always adopted in pairs, as three seems to be our number.

I Looooovvvvvvve having more than one cat. I think that I'd reach critical mass around5 or 6, but 3 is a great fit right now. 4 would be nice, too. But up into the 5 and 6 is where I think I'd reach the end of my tether.

I love having so many different personalities in my house and I love how they interact with each other.

I would always want at least two kitties, so they can keep each other company. And I used to think I wouldn't want more than three or four cats, because I thought it would become difficult to fully appreciate each one as an individual...

But right now, I'm temporarily staying with my parents, so there are five cats in the house -- and I have a very distinct and special relationship with each of them. So... maybe love has no limits. :-)
