Hi my kittens Soy and Foxy is 3 and a half month old. Every morning they have a routine "exciting play time" from 9 to 11 (i.e. they seems more excited during the mornings).

Today about 10am when they were playing around, chasing and biting each other, Soy suddenly stopped in standing position, fast breathing, with noise from the throat, seems like some foreign item in the airway (no cough). Foxy was still biting him so we quickly seperate these two. My husband picked Soy up (still standing) and try to see if something choked him, Soy's body was having spasms (not sure if this is the right word, or "twich"). We were shocked and didn't know what to do. After about 3 to 5 seconds he's gradually back to normal (it seems so long! but we are sure about that because I was still able to hold Foxy when she's trying to get away). We seperate these two for 10 more minutes in two rooms and see how Soy's doing, but he just back to normal again, very playful and calling his sister to play.

They are in-door cats, never went out and have distemper shots. We are going to visit a vet this afternoon but we still wants to know your guess (since he don't have this anymore we are afraid the vet wont be able to tell). We are very worried if this happens when we are not around...

Have your cats have similar situations? Thanks!

Thanks!

Visited vet that afternoon, vet did a brief examination said the lung sounds clear, throat nothing and Soy looks very healthy. As this problem only happend once and get resolved by himself in 5 seconds, he said sometimes kittens may play too wild and gasp for air, if it happen again, visit him asap.
