Hi,

I have one cat Cheeto (12 months in March), and Bailey, who will only be 10 months in March, so I'm not sure what to feed them at this point. Feeding them separately isn't really an option, they free eat dry Nutro Natural Choice. Any suggestions of if they should both switch to the adult now? They are both big kitties already (not really fat though, just big)

Switching to an adult food for both of them would be fine at this point. I don't even feed my 5 month old kitten "kitten" food. I feed her regular food. Kitten food is basicly the same as adult food. And vise versa. Don't really see any immediate need for it.

I would ask the vet but 10 months seems okay for adult food

Kitten food is richer for growing kittens (they need it) but since they are 10 months now, switching to adult food should be fine.

Kitten food is not the same as adult food. At 5 months old, you most certainly should be feeding a steady diet of kitten food to help your little one grow and develop normally. At the age of around 1 year, you can switch to an all life stages formula if you like, but I recommend keeping kittens under one year on baby food unless there is a severe health or weight issue.

You can go ahead and switch now if you like, an all life stages formula is a good choice.

Abby eats Wysong Rabbit/Venison/Duck Au Jus canned and Wysong Archetype (dehydrated raw.) It's fine for all life stages.

Depending on the type/size of the cat, you can feed adult food at 5/6 months and up. Our rex kittens would have been little tubs if they ate kitten food till they were a year old! A main coon or persian type would be ok with kitten food for a year.

So you can switch any time, just start adding 1/2 adult and 1/2 kitten and over a few days increase the adult food and decrease the kitten.
