Muffin is home from the vet. Here are the results of his bloodwork today.
ALB 3.6, ALP 54, ALT 238**, AMY 680, TBIL, 0.4, BUN 26, CA 9.0, PHOS 4.0,
CRE 1.4, GLU 83, NA 152, K 4.6, TP 7.1, GLOB 3.5.
The test on Feb. 6 showed these levels as above, 3.2, 71, 304, 757, 0.4, 23, 9.3, 3.6, 1.3, 85, 150, 4.9, 7.6, and 4.4.
The vet said overall his bloodwork is better today than it was before. Have any of you had any experience with something like this? Muffin has had all the time, good appetite and is acting normal. He eats C/D prescription food because of urinary issues. The vet said he is going to do some research to see if he can find anything that might explain the high ALT level.
All input from anyone is much appreciated.

Let me say again, Muffin has been fine the whole time. His appetite is good and he is not lethargic. His litterbox habits are okay. He is drinking plenty of water. My vet has no idea what could be causing this problem. He is going to do some research to see if he can find anything that will shed some light on this. I was hoping somebody on this board might have some knowledge of this problem.

I surely was hoping for some input. Maybe nobody has had a problem with cats with a high liver enzyme. If you have I am very interested in your experience.

I just did a search in the health forum for ALT. It has to do with the liver but other then that...I don't know.

If it were me, and my vet did not have a clue what was going on...I might want to see a specialist. Is your vet concerned about it?

He was concerned when he did the first bloodwork on the 6th of Feb. When he did it yesterday, he told my husband he didn't think we should be concerned about it right now. He said it is even possible Muffin was born that way. We lost one of our cats to kidney failure in July last yr. I just want to be on top of everything because by the time we knew anything was wrong with Max, it was too late and I don't want another issue like that.
