I am .... and yet I'm not.

I don't like surprises, so tend to always find out things that I really should be waiting for - I really enjoy the anticipation. But I have NEVER read forward in a book to find out what happens, that would just spoilt it.

I can stand in a line for hours and not care - these things happen - but if Max taps his fingers anywhere within ear- or eye-shot I have to tell him to stop. Fidgeting drives me nuts. As does loud eating ... ugggghhhhhhh ...

I am very patient with my clients, coworkers, and loved ones. I try to be patient with people in service or retail jobs, but it is not always possible. Just being around the general public it is often impossible! Sometimes all I can do is shake my head in amazement that some people are just too dimwitted to be believed.
I am very patient with my kitties.

I'm terribly impatient. Just ask my mom and dad, I've always been this way.

I'm an extremely patient person. I don't really stress, and if i do, it's maybe for 5 mins max.

But my fiance on the other hand, extremely impatient, and stresses about everything..haha

I think I keep him sane...but he gets pissed when i don't stress about bills

I'm with you on the skating results. I'd be watching now except I saw Sasha's falls in practice and came online for the results instead.

No, I have not a shread of patience, except in two things: feral cats and the flute (but not always the flute...sometimes I want to chuck it at a wall.)

I used to play the flute...I miss it! I pawned it for $50 during an extremely rough patch. *sigh* And I'm a pack rat, so that made it harder.

She was focused on teh results, too! In fact, she started out with something to prove. In music and all other performances, this is a big NO-NO. You focus on the music. You focus on telling your audience what Prokofiev or Copland or whoever is writing about. Once you start getting ideas like "I'm favored for the gold" or "I have to get the gold" going through your head, you WILL fail.

She had sometime to prove. She did not, in any way, enjoy herself out there. I see a lot of myself in Sasha. All talk and then easily intimidated when she's basically got it in the bag. It's a really sucky feeling, in case anyone's wondering

Yeah, I'm trying to do it for a living, but I'm only 20, so I have a loooong way to go before I'm pro.

That's still good though! I'm only 20 too, my uncle plays professional trumpet, and my opa has played the piano forever. All through middle school I was always 1st chair, even w/o practicing, it's in my genes to be musically inclined. But I wouldn't want to do it professionally. I'd like to learn how to play the claranet!

But I think it's very cool you want to play professionally! Just keep your head up!

Ooooh good for you!!

I played the oboe for seven years - three of those professionally. Music is so soothing for the soul

Well, yes, there is that!

I attended the WA Conservatorium of Music for three years and I almost had a nervous breakdown the day I auditioned. And for the entire three years every time I had to lead a masterclass I would stress about it for weeks beforehand. Nothing quite so nerve-wracking as solo musical performance - particularly in front of your peers!
