Do you secretly (or not so secretly) favor one of your fur friends?

Oh I definitely favor my Simon, and I think its mostly because he is very pushy about being paid attention to! Sapphire will just kinda hover on the sidelines while Sim takes the spotlight, he's the one that cuddles with me on the couch and sleeps with me at night, plus he's just so handsome I can't resist! I also love my dog very much and at times there is a little jealousy that goes on with Vino and Simon as to whose turn it is to sit in my lap

I have to say that my Rainbow Bridge Boy, Snoopy was and is my "special" boy. I don't think ANY cat can ever get as close to me, as Snoopy was.

Out of my present kitties, I think it's a toss up between Simba and SunLee. Although, as time goes by, it's is my little Princess, SunLee who just so precious and sweet. I think I am more likely to spoil her, and let her get away with things, than I am the rest of my fur family.

Though I don't really intentionally favor Oliver, I think I have a stronger bond with him simply because he's been my baby for four years and we've only had Emma for less than a year. But, everyday Emma and I get a little bit closer!

Even though I love all three of our kitties.. I've always sort of favored my Lucy.. maybe it's because she always follows me, "talks" to me (haha), sleeps on my bed and is the sweetest kitty ever.. she's my baby!

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
I can honestly say I love them equally. Sleeves, despite only being 9 months old, is my big grown up boy and I just adore him, he's so gentle and sweet and the little noise he makes when he's sitting at the window in the morning watching the birds makes my heart melt. He's a sensitive soul I can tell, he takes things to heart so I have to give him special kisses and playtime and treats.
Nismo has just become such a love machine. We've only had her since the beginning of December and she's so tiny but I feel like we've had her forever. I don't think I could have one cat without the other. Nismo just purrs so loud when you even look at her. She comes to the sofa and lies all over you like she can't get enough of you its fantastic.
She also looks out for her big bro and loves her Daddy. Sleeves is an absolute Daddies boy, he favours Mark over me but I don't mind.

I don't think I favor one over the other and I have enough. I find it truly amazing that they each have such different personalities. Because of their different personalities I find I spend more time with some of them more than others and that's their choice.
Simon is very much a loner. He does not like to be brushed and even sometimes petted. When he wants attention he will let me know otherwise he is content to watch.

I also notice that I will give special attention to a cat that might have had a stressful day because of a visit to the vet or something. With as many cats as I have someone seems to always be in need of a vet check/shots.

I do have a few that are snuggle bunnies and as soon as I arrive home I will have a lap full of cats but I find that I love them all equally.

Same here. Stumpy and Koko are clearly Steve's. Scarlett and Muddy love both of us equally. The 4 of them are our collective favorites. But then there is Spanky, Dakota, Sage and Pinky, who run a very close second and they are clearly mine. If Oscar wasn't so scared all the time, he'd be my close second list (he's all mine also). And bottom of the list is poor Eight-ball. He doesn't like my husband, loves my lap but spends most of his time bullying everyone else in the house. He's bottom because he gets so obnoxious with the others all the time.

It's no secret I favor Joji. She's one of my first cats. She has and always will have a special place in my heart.

Yes, I favour MieMie, she's my rescue baby. We have a VERY special bond that no-one understands.

MieMie came out from Waller (country side) and she was very small for her age, she was walking around my fiance's uncle's garage while we were all out there, and it was like New Years 2 years ago, it was freezing cold!

His uncle offered her to me, and my fiance was like "oh fine" lmao. So I quickly grabbed her and stuck her in my car, she found a warm spot in the backseat and sat there the rest of the time we were there (about an hour).

When we were going home, we looked EVERYWHERE for some place that was open and finally stopped at a walgreens to buy a litter box, small bag of food, and small bag of litter.

When we got home, she slept under the covers next to me the whole night through. Ever since then, she's followed me around the house, sleeps with me at night, greets me at the door.

My fiance is kind of scared of her, because she uses her claws, she's a demon child lmao, when she plays all her claws come out all over the carpet, she knows how to get traction.

She's also extremely smart, we had a mouse cage once, with about 30 feeder mice in it, my fiance built the cage with the door opening upwards on the top, she figured out how to unlock it, open it, and grab mice to kill them and leave them in various spots of the house for me to find.

She's my baby. I love all my cats, but she's very close to me. She's the first kitty in the house, and she's the dominate one.

Leo is my rock. He was the one who started the whole love of cats and rescue thing. He is quiet, steadfast and consistent. He is patient, stoic and yet understanding. Leo is the one I have conversations to (not really with, lol). Plus, he has the "purr heard round the world"

Gracie is my little clown. She's playful, outgoing, cuddly and a little nutso. She's good for a laugh and she's just full of life and energy and I love the way she kneads me and purrs and get all excited about treats and da bird. She's kinda bossy with the boys and I identify with that

Raphael is my cuddle bug. He likes to follow me everywhere. I love the fact that I talk, he meows. He's also the one who sleeps in my bed with me at night and I love that
same here

bonnie's like a furry little sister, she's been with me for around six years, i'm very close to her and have a bond that has developed with time, she's a very bossy and wakes me up in the morning when she's hungry, we have also been through a lot together and she has always been there for me no matter what, i can't imagine what life would be like without her, when Jeff first come onto the scene she was very wary of him but she loves him now, she's just a darling.....i just love her so much
i guess we also know each other too, moods etc because of all the time together, i only have to look at her to know how she's feeling, it doesn't matter what other pets come into the house, cats or dogs, bonnie rules the roost and always has, she's tha alpha cat

pandy is like a baby, she follows me everywhere and sleeps curled up against me every night, if i cry she comes running and gives me smooches to cheer me up, i'd never met a cat like her before and it still amazes me now how much she follows me around, she also has some strange habits, she loves to eat creamed corn and sushi and she purs and paddles all the time, when i'm making sushi i sometimes catch her running off with a sheet of nori and if i leave the made sush unatended it will be all over the floor, chewed lol

anassa is like my best friend, because she's a dog she can go places with me that the cats can't, she goes swimming with me, plays chasey and lays next to me when i'm reading. she also protects me and loves to give me kisses
she also follows me everywhere

she's just beautiful and i'd be lost without her.

so i do love them all, just differently...bonnie thinks she is the favorite though

I love them all with the same level of intensity, but like others have said, in different ways for different reasons.

Max is always accusing me of favouring Ruby, but a friend of mine on the dog forum that I am on, who is a trainer I greatly admire with many, many years of experience with dogs put it in a lovely way - she said it sounds like Ruby is my `heart dog' and she is right. I adore them both, but Ruby just has a special place with me.

And my cats, well, how could I not love them all to pieces? I love Cairo because she is such a grump but loves me so much, Sunday because she is the sweetest, most affectionate darling thing, and Sashka because she is so full of personality and she was such a difficult, crazy little kitten, who is so sweet and cranky and skittish...

He loves Daddy too, but not the same.

Ophelia is Daddy's Girl, without question. She adores him. She sleeps with me at night, but only because Daddy rolls around too much while Mommy will wake up and contort herself to change positions in order to not disturb the kitty.
Other than that, she loves her Daddy and Daddy loves her.
It's much the same in our house. Cindy attached herself to Mum, and there's no doubt she's Mum's girl, though Dad's a good guy too. Fawn and Suzy, in totally different ways, are both Daddy's girls. Suzy herds Daddy into the study, so that he'll sit at the computer, and then she gets up behind him -- good for his posture
. As far as Fawn is concerned, nobody -- but NOBODY -- holds her right, or scritches her right, except Daddy.

And we respond in kind. The cats who have picked us tend to be our favourites. So when Suzy and Cindy are going at it, you know who's going to be getting each one's tale of woe
.

It think it would be fair to say, though, that we both love them all equally, it's just that there's a stronger special bond with the individuals who have chosen us.

Pig is my favorite, without a doubt. i often feel a little guilty, but she is my little girl. She squeaks for her mee-acks in the mornings, and she gets a little saucer of it (I realize she's not supposed to get it, but I only give her an oz or so) If she chews my cables, other tan telling her no and tabascoing the cables, she doesn't get punished. She's just so low maintenance, really .. she's just happy to have a home, and someone that loves her. And its terribly cute when she drools and makes bread and rubs whiskers. And she stands like a prairie dog when I point at her, and nuzzles my fingers.

I am guilty of this too!! Out of my two permanent cats, I love Ginger more than Pebbles - I have had him nearly 4 years, and he has outlived 3 cats already, so he is like the steady thing in my life. However, he is very independent, and does like going to my neighbours house. I cherish every time he sits on my knee and feel awful when I move him, as it doens't happen all that much (but more so since the neighbours got a new dog so the door has been shut more). Out of the 4 in the house, Molly is my favourite, and does get the most attention, but that is her personality - she is very in your face, has to sleep under the duvet, talks to you, so it is hard not to really. Tom prob gets the second most as again, he asks for it quite a lot. My two are just happy to have a nice home and regular decent food. Pebbles only tends to come for affection when I am either in bed or on the comp.

I don't think I love either cat more than the other, but I definately favour Portia.

She was my bottle fed bub and I had her from when she was just two days old - So I feel the need to protect her a little more than Diesel.

But Diesel is my little man and I definately love him to pieces!!

My tuxedo cat, Max, passed in July. He was my soulmate cat. He was aloof, independent and only wanted love on his conditions. But he was the smartest cat I have ever seen. I wrote a story about him when he died and didn't know if there is anywhere on this forum you can post things like that.
I still have Muffin who is going on 7, and Speedboat going on 10. Speedboat has always loved me better than my other cats. There is no where he would rather be than in my lap. He tried hard to make me love him the best. I really love them both pretty much the same. Although my heart still aches for the one who is gone, I don't let them know it and they both get lots of hugs and kisses. I am trying to appreciate what I have instead of missing what I don't have, but that is hard.

I love all my cats equally, but I must admit, Poodle Kitty is my first cat, and thus will always hold a special place in my heart. But I could never say I love one more than the other. They are all special, but in different ways.
