New temp. live-in & Garfield FREAKS OUT!!?? Help!

Okay.. my husbands friend just got his work permit renewed to come back to the states to work. Had no where to live when he got here so he is staying with us until he can find a place.
The problem is that Garfield won't even leave my room!!! He hides under my bed ever since this guy got here. He hasn't even seen him.

He heard him talking and ran back to my room.
He will only come out to eat and use the bathroom when this guy is at work!!

Is it a smell to him?
He is a big, tall guy, but LOVES cats.
He isnt loud.

He got here yesturday and I am so worried about my boy!

Any suggestions?

Believe it or not Rosie can be the same way with strangers until she gets to know them.

She hissed at Gil the first time he came to the house!, but then 2 days later was curled up on his lap, something she's never done with strangers.

What about one of those Feliway plugs?. I always just tell people to ignore her and she'll come to them eventually which she normally does because curiosity gets the better of her

Whew!!! Really?!?! That makes me feel a little better.

I guess I was just worried because he has never been that way with anyone.
He is a big baby, anyways.

Some friends don't believe I have two cats as as soon as Rocky hears someone coming through the door, he darts under my bed and stays put until they leave!


I would invest in a Feliway while their is a guest there to make Garfield feel more secure...
