AFter a long and arduous process with Tola - I think I just have to accept that she doesn't like World's Best.

I started off with pine (that's what she came with), graduated to World's Best and she was fine with it. Then I went on holiday and they only had this P-Pod Healthy Pet stuff so I used it without graduating and she was fine with it. Came back from holiday and switched completely (no graduation) back to World's Best and that is when she started pooping outside and in front of the litter box. Went back to P-Pod and again have been slowly graduating back to World's Best and she has been FINE. Last nite I came home and cleaned out the litter box and push fresh stuff in - 3/4 Worlds Best and 1/4 P-Pod (i'm sure i have been doing this before, but maybe i have been putting 1/2 and 1/2). Anyways, this morning i noticed she pooped in the box but didn't cover it up. I'm afraid we are going to return to the same problem.

So my question to you all is this.
I HATE this P-Pod stuff and refuse to use it. I need something similar to it but not as disgusting. I am thinking maybe she likes it because it's soft on her paws? it's quite powdery.

Any suggestions for new stuff that works WELL? Thank you all!!!!

My cats won't do any of the natural stuff, at all, period. It's not the best, but we just ended up with an unscented clumping clay litter. Petsmart sells 40 pounds of it for 10 bucks.

mine didn't like it, either. i was using Arm & Hammer, but i've switched to Tidy Cats. it seems to work as well, & the container is much easier to pour from!

If you're looking for a natural scoopable non-clay litter, 8-in-1 makes some good ones that are made from corn cobs (click here). They also make another litter called Fresh Results, which isn't listed on their website, but comes in a purple package with a white cat on the front. To my understanding the One Earth, Nature's Miracle, and Fresh Results (the one I'm using) are all very similar litters.

The texture is very fine (granules much smaller than WBCL) and soft, and it's not dusty at all. I don't know whether or not they're available in stores in Canada, but Pet Food Direct carries them if you order online.

That P-pod sounded like a nice idea in the store but I couldn't stand it either - I had to use a mask to scoop it because it was so extremely dusty. I can't imagine that's good for the cats.

If she still went in the box but didn't cover, I would give it more time. maybe she was in a hurry, or decided she doesn't want to cover anymore.

Yeah, I don't think this is going to work. I'm going to have to slowly move over to clay or something. I'm sad because I loved the fact that you could flush the stuff down the toilet.

The other alternative is using both the P-Pod and World's Best (half and half) because she does fine with that and at least I can flush them down, and at least I don't hate the P-Pod as much.

*sigh*

my cat rarely covers her excrement. her litter boxes are ina shower stall in a bathroom so if it stinks I can scoop, flush and then turn onthe fan. But i am lucky, after her spaying she used shredded newspaper for a few days so nothing could stick to her incision.

give your cat another chance, is she will use it and just not cover she/he might learn to cover if you show her how to do it.

But that's the thing - she KNOWS how to cover. She only doesn't cover when she's unhappy with the litter choice. AS long as I put some P-Pod in there, she's fine.

what about a litter maid box that will rake the stuff if she doesn't cover?

you get the clumping litter you like she doesn't have to cover...then everyone wins. I usw two really large litter boxes, she pees in one and usually has bowel movements in the other. I rarely find feces and urine clumps in the same box.
