Does anyone else here have trouble with purses or is it just me?

When I was in college I use to just carry around a wallet. I hated carrying anything that was large and bulky. After 2-3 years of doing this some friends of mine "girlified" me and I went out and bought my first purse. It also helped the purse trend as I had gotten my first cell phone and was slowly running out of pockets.

Since then though I have a love/hate relationship with purses and wallets. I never seem to move quick enough to finish putting away my money, receipt, get the stupid thing to close properly and leave before the person behind me is done at the checkout.
It's worse for me in the winter time because of gloves. That just adds one more thing to my sitting around after the checkout.

I'm wondering if I didn't have the wallet, just threw everything in there if it would just be better
Or maybe go back to just the wallet thing.

Anyone?

sometimes when im in a rush i just chuck everything into my bag and sort it out later when i get home, but if i have to do more shopping then i just chuck the receipt in the bag but put the money into my wallet properly.
I cannot walk out of the house with out my bag, and if its not heavy enough then i feel i forgot something!

Under the cats, mostly.
My problem with purses is that I put them down and forget where I put them. Usually in the grocery store or the phone box or something.... (and now you know why I'm poor!)
I keep everything in my pockets these days and I only take a purse when I'm going out somewhere nice. So that I can stick my makeup in it.

I have about 20 purses!!! But I try to keep the one that I use at the time organized. I have my wallet, a coin purse, a small makeup bag and kleenex, a couple pens, my appt book and business card holder. Then a keychain for all those plastic cards that stores have for frequent shoppers. Then a big glob of paper stuff which I think I will carry in another organizer. I also have my briefcase with office supplies, measuring tape, camera and files for my business that I really have to have in one of the vehicles too.
Then the purse has to be large enough to carry around DH's wallet!!

Mine too! When i go shopping, I just throw the reciepts in there and I have a special convient spot for my Debit/Credit cards - I rarely use cash or checks anymore! But then sometimes I loose my cards and go into a panic...only to realize they are under all the crap and reciepts in the bottom of my purse!

I have that same problem. My purse is the only thing that I feel needs to be trendy and cute

Here's the one I have now:

I love it, all though a lot of people (such as my parents) don't

OOOOO and I must show off my new tote bag for school:

And back on topic... When I am in a store and there are people waiting I just toss everything in my purse and straighten it out when I am in the car, or at home. For the most part I never have cash. As long as I keep my check card, and my Starbucks card in my wallet I can manage just fine

I put everything into my wallet and drop it into my purse. The next person in line has to wait.
I know its rude but give me 1/2 a chance to put my money away so I don't lose it.

Yessssss!!!! Thank you! That is the one thing that annoys me about cashiers: As soon as they hand you the money and your receipt they're on to the next person! This is probably why I feel rushed!

I have tried the larger bags, but I spend more time with my head in them looking for where I put the stuff rather than having it all prepared. I really like smaller purses because then I don't feel like I'm carrying as much. Plus they're really good conversation pieces ("Look at how small your purse is!")

Hey I have the same style bag in two different patterns! I have the off-white with the colored hearts, and the black with the colored letters. I know its silly to have such expensive purses, but they are from my mom. She is the sweetest person on earth and loves to spoil me and my sis. She says she knows that while I'm in college I can't afford to buy myself nice things, so I got the first one for my 20th birthday, and the second for Christmas this past year. I love them because they match everything, and hold up really well!

I usually TRY (
) to keep money, checks, reciepts all in my wallet. If nothing else, I'll stick it all into the side pocket, that way I atleast still know exactly where it is. But right now I'm getting a little messy because I'm doing clinicals once a week for nursing school, and I dont take my purse. I put everything into a little change purse (my license, check card, and a little cash). Then after clinical day, I can never remember if my stuff is in my big purse, or somewhere in my change purse!

I made a deal with my fiance that if I manage to hold out all year on buying purses, on my birthday he will buy me a designer purse. I love purses and would go buy a new one every month or so at Target. I like our deal
The one I bought before the star purse was the bucket style in black with the colorful logo all over. I love the colors, but this year I am thinking of getting a more "toned down" purse. I like the Coach back that was linked

It's not rude. I think it's rude of the cashier or person behind you to make you feel rushed. That is something I'm working on... not letting people make me feel rushed. I think we have every right to put our credit cards or checkbook back before we leave the checkout stand.

Back to the purse issue. I have MAJOR issues. Mine is in the choosing. For me to buy a purse, it has to pass a strenuous test.

1. has to have one single strap
2. has to have a zipper to close
3. has to have just one major compartment on the inside
4. can't be too big or too small

5. a bonus would be an extra small pocket or two on the outside (or inside) for keys or cell phone.

I just found one - that I thought was 'the' perfect purse at Fossil the other day but it was kind of a weird blue and my daughter (my fashion consultant) told me it was 'out' due to the color of blue it was, and they didn't have it in another color.

The purse I have right now has a zippered pocket on the outside for debit/credit cards etc. and that works really well for me, but the inside section is a bit too small, it hardly holds my check book and keys.
