Can you post a link so people can see the cats? Or describe them more completely for those close to you? Can you put them on Petfinder.com? Thanks. (And thanks for all the years you have been doing this!)

I'm so happy that they are finding wonderful homes! I sure will spread the word to friends and family about the kittens...is there a link on your page about adoption prices or anything? I was looking for that earlier and couldn't find one...just curious so that if I find someone that is interested, I can give them more info!

Kat...I'm a bit alarmed...are you saying that you don't follow up on spaying/neutering or even require it???

I'm sorry i must not have made that clear , all cats old enough are spayed and nuetered before they leave my rescure but these kittens are 5 weeks old and my vet suggests not altering them before 6 months for several reasons .. like any rescue i require an adoption contract . The kitten contract is a little diffrent then the cat contract as it has the "You must spay and nueter your pet as soon as it is old enough to have the procedure " and of course i take vet refferces so i can follow up on them . But i'm sorry i thought this was pretty standard procedure for a resuce so dident say all of that . The reason my adoption fees are negotiable with the kittens is because of several factors that i listed and also because i would like to see them placed early so that they can go to forever homes early on and not be in my rescue tile there 6 months old . I'm not in this to try and make a profit only to help cats and kittens and other animals find homes . Sorry if i was not clear earlyer as i said i am new to this forum thing and i thought all of this was stardard procedure at any rescue . Sorry for the confusion .

KitKat....why are you placing 5 week old kittens?? I don't know about Tenn., but in Virginia, placing kittens before 7/8 weeks is illegal. If these kittens have their moms..they should stay with the mom until 10-12 weeks of age. If they are orphaned...they shouldn't be placed until they are 7/8 weeks of age. Is there any way that you can hold on to them for a few more weeks so that they receive proper socialization?

Yes i know they should not leave mom tile there 8 to 10 weeks but the adoption process usually takes at least a couple of days to several weeks depending on the sitiuation and i am hoping to have there new homes found and already processed so that as soon as they are ready they can go to there new homes i am trying to minamiize the time they have to spend at my rescue so they can go to there new homes as soon as they can and there homes are ready . Plus with a new kitten there is shopping to do .. all the necessarys need to be bought and set up and this gives there new famliys and chance to do that . I rarely place something the day i list it and if youve done rescue you understand that, in fact my usualy time ( and i'm proud of this ) is i can usually have kittens placed with in 3 weeks which would give me 2 weeks to go through applications and vet refrences , and time for the famliy to set up and buy what they need to and prepare any childeren for there new famliy member .i am new at forums and intrenet listing but not cat rescue i have been doing this since i was a kid of course you cant place them tile there 8 to 10 weeks old .. have you really meet people who dident know that ?Sorry most of the cat people i've been lucky to meet were educated on them and most of my adopters have at least know the basics . As i said i am listing them early so that they spend as little time at my rescue as they have to so they have individual loving forever homes .agian i was under the impression from othere rescues even on petfinder it was o.k. to list them early so long as they didnt go to there homes before 8 to 10 weeks of age . If you have anymore questions on them or my rescue information your welcome to e-mail me [email protected]

Fact is I've never run into a rescue who advertizes kittens under 8 weeks of age...definately not at 5 weeks. It can come across as saying that it is ok to place these kittens at such a tender age, which I do not support. I think it needs to be clearly stated that these kittens will not be going into their new home until they reach the age of 8-10 weeks of age. Pre-adopting is fine, as long as you are not turning over the kittens until they reach the 8 week mark.

Katie

Appreciate that you are willing to address my questions off this board, but I would hope you would be equally willing to address them here.
