Hi all, I'm not sure if this is in the right category or not, but I figured since it has to do with cat health, it'd be okay.

My question is: What is a safe hardwood floor cleaner that is safe for use around cats? Now normally I just use vinegar and water mixture, but I find it doesn't make my floor as shiny or clean as I'd like. I also refuse to use anything made by Proctor and Gamble, even though it might say pet-friendly. (Too bad it wasn't friendly to the animals they test their products on. grr.)
Swiffer, Febreeze, etc..

If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great! My floors are looking terrible!
Thanks again for your help!

I second the suggestion for Method products. I've liked all of their products I've used. And also love that they're non-toxic, not tested on animals, environmentally friendly, etc.

They just came out with non-toxic, biodegradable, natural electric-socket air freshners! I am going to Target right this second to get some! Hopefully they're not essential oils.

I use everything by them...their laundry detergent, hand soap, all of teh cleaning products...

Just make sure kitty has a different room to go to when you're cleaning, though. These products contain tiny amounts of Essential Oil fragnance, which really isn't in an amount big enough to hurt them unless they ingest it "significantly", was what the lady said when I called teh comapny. Which, with spray products, can happen accidentally, so I just move them to a different room when I'm cleaning. But same goes for ANY product, really...

I saw those this past weekend, they also have a spray freshener similar to Glade.

Simple Green products are non-toxic. I've been finding their cleaning wipes at Big Lots and their cleaning solution at my grocery store.

I've heard that some of their products are unsafe for use around cats. You might want to look into that.

I got a special microfiber mop at Sears a while ago, all you need to use is water on it and it gets the floors really clean (they also sell cloths like that, you use them on your mirrors and windows, you don't need chemicals and they're streak-free). Not sure if they would do anything to shine them up, but they're great dry (works like a swiffer) or wet (picks up all the dirt). And obviously they're pet-friendly since they don't need cleaners.
