I am a newbie cat mom. I always had dogs. I have the female who is about 18 months and the male who is her son (7 months) for about 3 months.
They play together and get along , however, he has one annoying habit. Mitzee will be laying about and Remy will come and sit on her head. She will growl at him and eventually ends up going elsewhere . Is this normal brat cat behavior? Should I interfere or let them work it out?

I've never had a cat do this, so I unfortunately don't have any direct advice as to how or if you should stop it. BUT...I can tell you that it's her advising her son that she's the top cat there at home, and she's MOM, and he better do what she says. Sounds like he's a bit rebellious and doesn't want to listen to mama. Lol...

Hope this at least sheds light on it...sorry I couldn't help more!

brat cat just like i thought *lol* I have been picking her up and away from him when he is behaving like this, but I am just not sure if I am making the problem worse? He is very jealous, but otherwise sweet.

It could be the jealousy that's causing it. It could very well be her trying to remind him who's boss and to knock it off, ya know? I wouldn't worry about it hurting him...she sounds like she's a great mama...and doing her job very well. The only time I would worry is if he fights back, and they go at it, but even then, it'll only probably happen once. In general, unless someone posts otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much. Sounds like she's doing a great job at teaching him his place in the household.
