Ok, so we have just gotten a new kitten on monday. My RC, Otis didnt like it, ok. Understandable. We sicne had gotten from the previous Owners a cage and put it in the Living room (huge) so they could see each other and play through the bars. THe thing is- we cant tell if Otis is playing, or attacking. He is 7 mo old and he is pretty big for his age. Did we just get a kitty tooo young? Boston is 9 wks old. We let them out for su[pervised play today, and Otis was jumping on him, and biting him...but we just cant tell if he means to hurt him or if it's b.c he is so big. And now i saw Boston's litter box and he left his poop uncovered. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Is Otis hissing or growling? Does the fur on his back or tail stand on end? Does he put his ears back? Those are sure signs that he is in attack mode rather than play mode. If not, then he's probably just playing, however, since your kitten is so young you should continue to supervise very carefully as they play. Maybe you can engage the two of them in play with you, so that they focus on you more than each other. My Cleo doesn't cover her droppings either. I got my cats very young and mom didn't have a chance to teach them. That may be the case with your little guy too. Ordinarily, kittens are ready to leave mom at twelve weeks. I didn't know this myself when I got my kitties, but they still turned out well.

No, Otis isnt growling and hissing. He is soo aggressive when he plays tho!
It scares us, and Boston starts to hiss and howl. Boston is scared of him we think, because if his playing. The question i had was- can i hold boston so he can just be held for awhile? or should we just let Otis stay in the room?
I didnt want otis to get jealous. Thanks for answering.
