one of my cats has a very clear fluid coming out of one eye. it's not just a little, it's almost gel-like and runs the length of her nose.
this happened about a week and a half ago, i wiped it off her, and it didn't happen again, until today. the eye seems to be sensitive to light as well.

i'm going to take her to the vet on monday - but does anyone know what this could be a symptom of? it's not like a 'regular' eye crusty or anything.

It could be brought on by a wide range of things. An obstructed tear duct, an eye lash that's curled in towards the cornea, trauma, and allergies.

My cat, Fallon, her eyes run constantly and her doctor said it was most likely due to allergies. I think smoke and dust set her off. Although I don't smoke, we'll have company over who will have a cigarette and this will cause her eyes to water. Her doctor gave me some drops to put in her eyes when they get really irritated.

it's all cleared up today! i think maybe it's allergies.....could a new feather toy be the root of the problem?

I wouldn't think so but it's hard to say since this is a bad time of year for allergies. I feel for anyone human and animal alike who has allergies this time of year.

I'm glad to hear she's ok!!
