My Pixie is home from the vet!
I missed her so bad, I am sooo glad she's home. I'm constantly paranoid now though about her climbing around, I already found her on top of the fridge...*sigh*...even surgery doesn't slow her down
.

I was also wondering does anyone know any home remedies I can try, just in case she starts licking her incision too much? She's not cleaning it too much now but you never know that can change.

Pepper was NOT impressed when I brought Pixie home from the vet, she started hissing and growling.
I couldn't believe it! I know Pixie was gone but it was only for 24 hrs. Could it be because of the vets' office smell on her? Pixie can't go near Pepper and Pepper is hissing and going. Does this last very long?

Trust me, this are minor inconviences, I am just ecstatic (sp?) that my Pixie girl is home with her Mom.

Thanks for all the vibes being sent our way...

I'm glad to hear Pixie is home and doing good. I wondered how she made out. My Lilly was spayed this morning and they called and said shes out of surgery and doing fine. She comes home late this afternoon.I have heard that its the smell from the vets that gets the other cats upset.I hope I don't have any problems with my other 4 when I bring her home.

try putting vanilla extract on the tops of their heads & at the base of their tails - this way, they smell the same. the anesthetic makes the cat smell odd to other cats.

I had to do that on my kitty a couple days ago from comming home from the vet. They just dont recognize the kitty that came home from the vet cuz they are covered in office smell, other animals, and all those other people.

Ahhhh...Thanks you guys!
I'm so glad she's home, but keeping her "quiet" has proven difficult.
*sigh*, I've had to put her in "her" room, with toys, fresh food and litter, to keep her from running around and climbing. The vet said her jumping up on the bed (it's quite low) should be ok, and I've been keeping a close eye on her stitches and her incision seems dry and no redness. I feel horrible basically barring her in the her room but it's for her own good. We've tried having her out around but she's running around, jumping on the couches, climbing their scratching post, etc. I'm glad she's feeling good, but I'm just paranoid she'll tear out her stitches, so in the room she goes.

My bf and I take turns spending time in the room with her, cuddling and playing with her. I slept with her last night, and probably will ever night till she's better.
I'm such a overprotective Mom.
Has anyone else had this trouble after having their kitty spayed/neutered? Her vet called this morning for a check-up and they said that she still has to be "quiet" for the next few days..I laughed and said I'll try the best I can cuz she's up and on the go now.

How long do you think it'll take Pepper to get use to Pixie again? I was hoping it'd only be a couple of days, I go back to work on Tuesday and was hoping that by then Pepper would have accepted Pixie again. One can only hope

How's Lilly coming along today? I hope she's starting to feel better?

My other 4 cats did hiss at Lilly .I kept her in my bedroom alone also, Afte ra few hours the other cats where fine with her. She slept on a big fluffy pillow in front of the wood stove al lnight. Her incision looks fine too. She is lapping at it abit but not much. She ate and drank. She pooed once but no pee yet that I have seen anyways..

Java was about 5 1/2 months old when she was spayed - Cable just over 5 months. both were running around the next day like nothing happened. the vet called to check on them, & when i told him this, he said fine. i didn't restrict them at all - neither had any problems with pulling out stitches, didn't wear e-collars, etc. just shows you how different vets can be!
