Talking to my mom on the phone or watching those trashy talk shows.

Its kind of an ego boost, knowing that I don't need to be on Maury 8 times to find out who my baby daddy is.

Guess I never thought of it that way.

I love to go on a drive. Whenever I get down, I look at a map, descide a road to go on, and just drive. If the weather is nice out, I'll roll down the windows, and crank the music up. You dont even need an end place to go, just a road. It's a great way for me to unwind.

Under the Radar
My babies-Mike, Tucker & Mini often make me feel better, but also the guys at work can sometimes crack me up.
I work in a sheetmetal shop surrounded by men of all different personalities.(Mike, my fiancee is one of them)
Our recent floorboss is such a jerk & morale is at an all-time low..everybody is getting cranky & P.O'd.
Yesterday I was back in the shipping department & the shipper was looking for a radio station & discovered a religious station with one of those passionate hell-fire & brimstone sermons going on...he was standing there imitating the preacher with these wild hand gestures & painful expressions, & he made me laugh so hard. Silly things like that always make my day.

My cats. Especially when Jaz sits on my chest with her paws either side of my neck, resting her forehead on my chin....bliss

A spicey curry and a good DVD.

And a cuddle from hubby

Sash always cheers me up without a doubt.
Will is pretty good at cheering me up too, he's usually a very upbeat person, unlike myself so he helps me a lot. I also enjoy taking a nice bubble bath at night if I had a down day or cuddling up in bed and reading a good book. Cloudy days and snowy days also put a smile on my face.

Under the cats, mostly.
sounds like the mid winter blahs to me - Rune and I both suffer with that. It's not pleasant - but we've both been getting better knowing that the daytime is 4 minutes long every day now. Only 2 minutes on either end of the day, but it's already noticably lighter in the mornings when I cycle to work. That cheers me up. That and when I get to work on a Friday Kis has always arrived with a steaming hot loaf of freshly baked bread for breakfast for the crew. We have breakfast and hot chocolate together and it's wonderful to know that I really like the people I work with. That makes all the difference.

My 2 furbabies always cheer me up after a long day of work. But for relaxation I head somewhere to put my mind at ease............................... the beach. Hehehe!

What puts you in a better mood?
I've been feeling exactly the same way, so I'm working on a list of things that make me happy, other than the obvious family, friends, health...those, I feel are given in my list of blessings. Here is a sampling, feel free to indulge in any of these!

1. The Unaccompanied Cello Suites by J.S. Bach
2. Road trips!
3. Kitties, of course, although I wish Raph was feeling better and didn't have to go to the vet Wednesday
4. hummus, warm pita and a side of tabbouleh
5. Fuzzy slippers
6. The Extreme Makeover/Desperate Housewives/Grey's Anatomy Sunday night tripytch...the ONLY time I can watch TV all week
7. Really long and satisfying practice sessions
8. Baths with my lemon/almond bath oil
9. A really clean house/apartment
10. Dark. Chocolate.
11. The fact that even though it's about 3 degrees out, the days are getting longer!
12. Knowing that this stupid quarter is over in 3 weeks and I will never have to take math ever, EVER again. Ever.
13. Bicycles
14. Having a brain!
15. Art museums
16. Curling up with a good book and a cup of tea on my big comfy bed
17. Not having to be perfect
18. poetry
19. art museums, specifically one that's free on Tuesdays
20. weekends
21. ice-skating
22. flip-flops
23. Scrapbook materials!
24. Sleeping in
25. Chamber music rehersals
26. Knowing that I'm going light on the credit hours next quarter, since this past quarter has left me wanting to strangle people.
27. Home delivery of the New York Times
28. Sufjan Stevens, and the fact that he made an album about Illinois
29. The Skyline
30. The fact that I live in the greatest city on the planet
31. The fact that I have a really great lesson this weekend at U of Michigan

Hmm...I sure know the winter blahs too. My vacation did wonders for it! Otherwise I'd say my kitties, a good nap, shopping, chatting, eating (bad one huh?), and doing something crafty.

Music, and cleaning the house, oddly enough. When it's all clean and I put on a nice home cooked meal so the house smells of comfort food like mashed potatoes and roast or something, THAT puts me in a cozy good mood.

You know I was JUST going to post the same thing!

I had a rotten day today at work, so I went to workout at the Y, and I came home and I cleaned the kitchen - a deep down clean - and I took out all my aggression and anger on the germs!
I felt so much better afterwards!
