Latley I've been noticing that Harley is MUCH more lovey than he used to be.

Usually when I go to bed, he follows me in there and he'll lay up by my head and purr and let me pet him until he falls asleep.

Last night was the cutest thing ever - I was falling asleep and rubbing is paws and he layed down and put his head right on top of mine and then put his paw on my hand, like we were holding hands - he slept like that with me for at least an hour. I'm absolutely loving this lovey behavior of his!

Anyone else's cats get much more lovey with age?!

Awww, Harley is sooo sweet!

I've noticed the same thing with mine, especially Peter. He's gone from a feral kitten who cringed at human contact into the most lovey, sweet boy. He's not quite a lap cat, but he loves to cuddle under the covers at night and has to be touching me when he sleeps.

i've definitely noticed this - Cable became more of a lap kitty after turning a year old...now Java, who's just over a year, is also becoming more affectionate. maybe they just get jaded - you know, to a kitten, everything is interesting! once you learn about it all - warm laps are comfy!

Thats very true - he's still so active and into EVERYTHING, but he just seems like he's starting to like to cuddle a bit more - espeically at bed time! (No complaints here!- I LOVE IT!)

Lily has always been a lovebug. She is very kitteny, but she comes begging for attention all of the time. She sleeps right next to me always. She pounces on my pantlegs. She's such a doll. Twitch warmed up with age, but only because she learned we never do anything to hurt her. She feels completely safe with us. Someday, I hope Lola will get to be like that.

A few of the kittens I surrendered have become quite the lovebugs. Gabriel was always a lovey-dovey cat. He rolls over to get his tummy scratched when you reach for him & he then plays with your hands. Chico has been warming up to me a lot. I can even get him to come out to play with me in the room, now. Kai was so scard he would duck when you reached to pet him, now he rubs on your hands.
I miss them!

My Binky also became much sweeter since he is older. He is 4 years old now and became much more lovely than he used to be when he was younger

For sure. I think it's really just that as kittens they are too busybusybusy to sit still long enough to want a cuddle, but as they get older and mellow out a bit, they discover the pleasures of a lap or a cuddle. that's certanly been the way of it with all of ours.

Thats for sure - Harley is still a very busybusybusy kitty - he's only 7 months old - but he's starting to become such a lovey butt

After 11 years, Patches decided to be lovey enough that you could pet her in your lap. When she turned 14, she decided that she would actually jump into people's laps to get pet. Some cats just take a decade before they decide you've earned their trust.
