I think I just said the MOST inane thing, ever.

(Insert high-pitched, soppy lovebug baby-talk voice)
To the girls, `Why are you the most beautiful kittens in the whole world?'

Answer `Cos you're the most beautiful, that's why!!'

Ah...yeah, ok then.

Do you guys say hopelessly inane things to your darlings??

This site is the only place i would say things like this on because your the only ones who understand

Every night when i get in from work i go and let the girls out their room where they headbutt me and purr for ages

Imagine the high pitched, soft tone again?

ME: Have you missed your mummy?, because your mummy's missed you both as well

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
'Oh HELLOOOOOOO (very soft voice which Mark has started copying, in an English accent like mine) Peevesface (sleeves) how are you? Did you have a nice day? Have you done stinky poos for mummy? (Nismo comes wobbling in) Oh HEELLLLOOOOOO Mimsopizmo little baby tiny kitten face! (picks her up so she purrs) whos the pwittyest girl in the whole wide world?'
Maybe after this I'll start singing a song about them both or lie down on the floor so they can walk on me.

Equally guilty here. Too many to list, though... And yes, only the folks on this forum would understand!

Under the cats, mostly.
I'm not so that's as much inane, as it is inSane!

But I'm guilty of it too

Mostly mine goes on the same pitch...

"Hej Tosca, er du min lille tosse-cat!? Du er så fiiiiiiine.. smukke pige.... min lille skat, huh?"

Which generally translates as

"Hey Tosca, are you my little crazy cat? You're so pretty... beautiful girl, my little sweetheart, eh?"

I know, our cat is bi-lingual, before you ask....

Okay, I do it, too...but that doesn't keep me from laughing at these.

To Luna: "Bella Luna, my beautiful, beautiful moon...how you swoon me like no other" usually while rocking her like a baby. (Thank Jason Mraz for the lyrics.)

Sophie: "Sophie girl, how's my big girl? Is my big girl pretty? Yes she is so pretty!"

Omg we are all dorks!

High pitched (why do we all use high pitch voices while talking to our babies?)

"Hi Phennie-weenie!! Hows my sweet girl! Mommy loves you yes she does!! Are you hungry? Did you eat all your food today? Mommy will feed you at 6 while she is making dinner! Lets go upstairs. Do you want to go upstairs with mommy?"

I have long conversations with her!

I say all kinds of stuff to mine in a high-pitched baby talk kind of voice - too much to list here.

But, I also talk to Peter in a really deep voice and say things like "Where's big Pete?" and "Where's the man?" He gets all excited and purry when I do.

It gets really embarassing when you get caught doing it in the Humane Society
There is one cat that likes to "fly". I swing him around(not too fast) with a hand under his butt & one under his front feet & talk to him. I was in the middle of doing this when potential adopters walked in. They looked at me like I was a stone's throw from going off the deep end.

I don't think its crazy to talk to the ones at home. For some reason people think it's weird I talk to my deaf cat. When I got Lola from the vet this morning, I was talking to her in the vet's office. He did look at me like I was crazy, but all well. Someday, I aspire to be the crazy cat lady in town!

To Twitch "How my favorite fatty catty!?! How's my bon-bon? My favoritesterered Teechy-bon-bon!"

To Lily "Where my little Tiger!(She promptly pounces on my pant leg) AHHH! I'm being attacked by a monstrous tiger! EEKKK!"

I actually have serious conversations with them...so does that make me more of less weird?

Nah, I do the inane talking as well.

The best, though, is my neighbor. I don't think she knows that everyone on the floor can hear her talk to her "Sadie-Wadie" when she gets home

I baby talk to my kitties all the time, though my brother told me I shouldn't, because they'll never learn to speak properly if I don't.

And I've gotta agree- if we said things like this anywhere else but TCS I think people would think us to be insane!! But then who's to say we aren't insane hm?

Hee! I say the same thing, except I ask Ivo how her day was, protecting the house from the "ebil" (not quite as bad as evil) squirrels.
