I am having a wierd problem. I am unable to reply to threads. When I click on the 'quick reply' or the select the advanced reply option - nothing happens. This is happening on all the threads I have attempted to reply to. I am logged in. In the posting rules block (in the left hand corner), it tells me I am allowed to post, edit etc... I have rebooted, cleared out the cache etc... Any ideas????

We've had no other reports of this happening. At this point, all I can suggest is that you log in again 12 to 24 hours later and see if the problem is still there.

I had this problem when we first came back online. Clearing out my browser cache made it go away. Good Luck!

Are you using Internet Explorer? Is everything up to date (Run Windows Update to find out).

If you're using Firefox, visit their site for updates as well. I know I tried to use Firefox, but had more issues with this site than IE.

What browser are you using? Not all of our features are compatible with all browsers (like Quick Reply).

Also, in your UserCP, go to Edit Options and scroll down to the Message Editor Interface. It says if you are having trouble posting with the setting you are on, try one of the others.

I use both IE 6.0.2 and Firefox (v 1.0.3). Firefox is my primary browser. All the posting features were working in Firefox - then suddenly they stopped last week. I have not made any parameter changes on my PC, or upgraded my browsers. I guess I am now stuck using IE. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Hello,

How long have you had this problem? Is it only since the server move yesterday?

The only issue people would have noticed during the server move is being auto redirected to an ip address. This is still in place on the old server because even though 95% of the internet isp servers updated to the dns changes within a few seconds some of the smaller ones may not have. If you left the browser open and have still not closed the session for the last one you still may be surfing the old server to cause this issue, simply closing and reopening would fix that.

Other than that it sounds like a javascript issue, all new vBulletin versions use extensive JavaScript code with all the AJAX programming now. I suggest you make sure your browser is allowing the javascript from TheCatSite.com and I also suggest adding it into your trusted sites for your browsers.

If you run norton I suggest you add it to the trusted sites there too. Norton is the only one that I know that causes problems with javascript, you may test this by closing all browser sessions, shutting norton down, opening the browser and trying again.

If you are still having problems let me know.

Still can't reply to threads in this site (using Firefox) - which is strange since I belong to another forum which is also using vBulliten v 3.5.2 and I have no problems posting there. I don't use norton. Javascript, active-x, java runtime enviroment etc.. are all enabled in my browser and pc settings - as I use them extensively for own software development. The problem started last week, before the move over to the new server. I am going to try to upgrade to FireFox 1.0.7 and see if that works... Thanks!
