I'm so proud of myself right now!

I was scared to death that I'd be getting kicked out of the school I'm in right now because I fell like extremely behind and I had to be caught up by this thursday. Today I finally caught up so I won't be getting kicked out!! I had my nose in the book all day today and Im finally caught up I'm so excited!!!!

Well that is good news. Is there a counselor that you can work with to stay on a schedule???

I despise counselors I'm never talking to them again.

And I really don't need a schedule for this school. I mean everything you need is..right there lol.

If you don't need some counseling or advice on how to keep up with your school work, then how did you fall behind in the first place? Learning how to budget your time appropriately and complete tasks on time is a valuable work place skill that you need to master.

You've done the easy part getting caught up. Now the hard part staying caught up for the rest of the year. You can do it if you really want to. Its easier to stay caught up on you stress wise .And it will make your parents very proud of you also. Good Luck..You can do it!

Hey, it's not fair to assume all high school counselors are worthless. After all, you don't want someone to assume things about you based on what they know about other teenagers, do you? Yes, I had a really bad counselor who basically caused me to waste my freshman year, but I had a great counselor as a junior and senior who really tried to help guide the students into what was right for them. As in any profession, there are good ones and bad ones.

Also, if you fell behind on your schoolwork, regardless of how your school is structured, you probably need a schedule of some kind, even if it's just a reminder to do your work. I'm not pointing fingers; left to my own devices I can fart away ENORMOUS amounts of time. Entire weeks, in fact.
But I recognize and work around my limitations because I want to get things done.

Of course, none of this changes the fact that you catching up was awesome. So, CONGRATS!

I would reccommend hitting the books everyday, yes EVERYDAY, even on the weekends. But you can cut back a little on weeked study time. Meanwhile your should limit TCS time too, and computer time in general unless it is for schoolwork. Good luck at staying caught up! We know you can do it!!

Excellent job on the English! That was always my strong suit as well.

Watch that science, though. It'll bite ya in the butt if you're not careful.

So do you like science?? Is there a specific part thats hard for you?? I love science as I minored in chemistry in college and of course being a gardener I have to understand plants pretty well. So if you are stuck on a topic perhaps I can give your brain a boost!!
However this still means you will have to do your homework at school yourself.

Actually they have it where science is taught on computer. So all the work I have to do is all on computer. I just really don't like science lol so it's slightly difficult for me.

All on the computer? That seems odd; science is a very hands-on subject. That's what makes it interesting.

Yeah ... I guess I just figured an alternative school would have more hands-on activities rather than fewer. Who knew?
