This morning, I went outside to feed Zebo, the newbie. While setting down his food, I heard a "meow" behind me. Thinking, "Oh, great...he went and told his friends what a sucker I am!" I turned around...only to see PERCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot even tell you...I almost cried! He ran up to me and almost jumped in my arms. He looks beautiful! Fat and fluffy and clean. I can't imagine where he has been for 2 months, but he's home!!!!!!

Time to build a cat enclosure!!!

Crazy cat, where has he been?

Oh wow, that is great!
Someone must have been feeding him if he looks fat and well groomed. Maybe they were keeping him indoors and he escaped. Sounds like he had another family. uh oh, felinigamy.

Time to make Percy a housecat or build an enclosure for him. Too many scares by letting him run loose. We are all happy. Thanks Percy for behaving and coming home, even if it did take two months.

You know, I'm beginning to agree with those of you who think he has another family. There is only one other house, a good mile or mile and a half away, where I know they have cats and would take care of another if it showed up.

He was here that ONE day, and has since been a no-show again. I think I have to face the fact, Percy is a feligamist!
(Hey, it's better than what one of my friends called him.....she figures he's running off, getting tuna somewhere else...and calls him the tuna-****!
)

So, I'm resigning myself to not worry about him. He's obviously a big tease, showing up when he wants to and staying away when not. After 4 years outside, I'm going to assume on good faith that he can take care of himself pretty well. And, after seeing how great he looked the other day, I think it's safe to presume he is being taken care of somewhere!

They live so far away, I don't even know their names! I know they have outdoor cats, as I've seen them in the yard. They leave the garage door partially open for them, too. It's the only place I can think of that he would be fed.One thing nagging at me. Do you think him coming home and finding Zebo here had anything to do with him leaving again? Not that I can do anything about it now, but it does nag me. Oh, and they're both neutered.

I live in the No. Va area near DC.
Could Percy wear a collar w/ tag? That way, when he leaves, he MIGHT give the folks he goes to a clue you're wondering about him, and they MIGHT call you?? I know stories of cats with 2 famlies BTW...neither famliy knew
about the other... LOL!!

I too think it might be a good idea to give these neighbours a call. It wont matter if you dont know their names. At least that way you can eliminate them if they arent feeding Percy and you will know.

But your right - I think he must be doing okay considering how good he just looked, but it wont stop you worrying about him

Percy was home this morning again. Since I was running into PetSmart, I picked him up a collar and a name tag. Of course, once I got back home, the little snipe was nowhere to be found. Next time he shows his face, he's getting that collar, though!
At least if someone else is feeding him, they'll know where he SHOULD be, the big mooch!

Ahhh, the drama in the life of a feligamist!
I love that word - it does fit the situation! I can scarcely wait to read your next chapter of "Percy, the Feligamist"...
