Hello everyone!

I'm new here, so HI!!!
I was seeking help for a question I had on nutrition....
I hope you guys can help me. So here it is:

I'm feeding my two girls, Maïka 8 months, and Anna-Belle 7 months old Wellness food. I'm very happy with this brand, never had any problems with previous cats before... Maïka seems to have a "stinky poop hole" problem...
Her anus smells very bad... Her glands to be precise... My pet store told me it was probably the food...Ok!! Wellness being biological human grade food, maby it dosen't work for every cat... She also loses alot of hair...She sheds SO MUCH.... He friend, Anna-Belle is a long hair girl and she dosen't shed at all...I know we aren't supose to compare cats but you know...
I've recently notice some dandruff on both of them... So I would like to change their food... So what should I go for????? There's Royal Canin, Science Diet, Pro Plan I think.... Wich one?? I know Wellness is very good, but after that, I'm
!!!

Thanks for the help guys and sorry for the long post!!

The first thing I would suggest is that you have a vet check out your kitty's glands - it sounds as though they need to be cleaned out which they can do by squeezing but don't try this yourself.

As for the changing of food, there are a lot of good foods out there - read the labels and look for ones with the meat ingredient listed first, no by-products and not a lot of grains.

If you do some looking around you will find several threads in this forum listing some excellent quality foods.

Firstly though, please have your kitty checked by the vet for her anal glands - as soon as you can would be best.

Welcome to TSC and I echo what Yosemite said. I would add that after the vet visit, get some high-grade wet/canned food and consider weaning them off of their dry food diet. Some of the best I know of are Merrick(wonderful choices--all liked by my kitty) and Natural Balance. Both plus many more can be bought here.

Well, I did ask the vet... Actually, my first visit I asked about this...
She said it was normal, that pet's do this...They empty their glands etc etc

So this is why I'm up to the point of changing the food...
Wich ones better: Royal Canin or Nutro's??

Royal canin is good ... personally I use Nutro more than Royal canin cause it seems to work on my animals better

I'm not about to disagree with your vet, but if her stool has been very soft it may not have been firm enough to clean out her glands and she will need to have that done. If you check out some previous thread on this forum you will see that some cats had stool too loose to push and clean out the glands.

That's a possibility... But I'm very frustated lately...

The girls have been sick...Maïka trugh up for a day.... Then she seemed to be fine...But when I came back this morning, I saw something that had dried on the floor, that might of been more vomit...It's was liquidy and brownish...

And Anna-Belle has a VERY BAD case of diaryha. This has been going on several days now, that I've noticed.... Her poopy gets stuck in her fur and she smoochies it every were....I had to pick up 2 spots of poopys... YAK!

Very strange...I don't know why??? No plants around... Maybe the eat from the garbage or something...I know Anna-Belle clims on the counter when I'm gone....(bad kitty) and maybe she eats the crums of toast or something!!!

Try and figure that one out.... Plus, I'm a full time student and I have no money to go to the vet... But I was thinking.. Could it be a bad bag of food??? Wellness?? I wondering if this has been hapening since I bought the food..

I would call the vet and discibe the symtoms if he/she says come in explain$$ situation many vets will let you make payments... I beleive there food may be too rich but the vet needs to rule out glands worms other stuff first

There has been changes...

I completly changed the food...I'm not even going to make a transition.... I gave diner to one girl yesterday, because the other is of food for 24 hours, and about 45 minutes later, she trugh up everything plus had diarhea...
I called my pet store, ans he said just to cange it right away... I'm kind of mad, cause it's Wellness you know?? I paid 26$ for a small bag and I'm trowing half of it away... Anyways, I'm going back to the store and seeking revenge!!!

This has never happended to me before... Anyone ever got a bad bag before??

I gave them a little bit of Royal Canin Sensative Stomach and they seem to be fine for now...
