Well I need some tips. lol
I am a household of now 6 indoor kitties. I have ONE domestic boy who is almost a year old and he is FAT !!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean he's always been a chunk but I picked him up yesterday and this boy is a LARD. Now... I have my cats on Natural Balance and it's NOT free choice b/c this cat will eat and eat and eat. Actually HE and his brother do this. They are healthy- no worms, etc, etc.

So now I'm wondering... how in the world am I going to maintain the other cats weight and get THIS boys weight down? It doesn't help that he does NOTHING but sleep and be lazy.

I feed the Ultra Natural balance and could always pick up a bag of the Ultra light to feed to this boy... but don't want the other kittens into it. Hmmm

Any tips? lol

Why not just get a bag of light food and let them all have it? Wouldn't hurt, no reason they couldn't have it, it'll keep them all trim. That is what I do and it seems to work out fine. Any reason you don't want too? As long as they like it does it really matter? That is a healthy food in the first place and that should be the main concern and you have that covered.

Well I just felt my kittens, especially my female Persian should have the ultra. I will investigate the ultra light and see if that would be a healthy choice.

Remember to always consult a vet before putting a cat on a low-calorie diet.

If the vet gives the go-ahead, you could free-feed the calorie reduced food and give the other cats some of the normal food (wet or dry) twice a day in another room. That way, they still get to have some of the normal food but the overweight cat stays on the low calorie food. This is what I do.

If you have kittens under a year old they should definitely NOT be on a low calorie diet.

Talk to your vet about this please.

Yes I'd like to speak to a vet about this.

I didn't realize your cat was under a year old. Maybe you said and I missed it. I wouldn't do the light food for under a year. But over a year shouldn't be a problem.
