Hello, I am new to this.
My Cat is white and I seen a black thing on her. freaked out. took her to vet.
They treated her with advantage, and also gave her rabie shot. and now she has been sleeping all day, and not eating, just sitting in corner. anyone else's cat have a reaction like this. please help. needless to say I am driving my husband nuts, ripping up rugs and threw away out beds because she laid on them.
Please help

If your cat is groggy after getting her vaccinations, it's possible she's having a reaction. Please take her back to the vet ASAP - sometimes vaccine reactions can be very serious.

As for the fleas, the Advantage should take care of any infestation on your cat for a month, then you'll need to reapply it next month. You don't need to throw away the bedding - washing it is usually enough to get rid of any fleas.

For your house, get a flea collar, open the package, cut it up and put it in your vacuum cleaner bag, and then vacuum your house.

A vet tech told me recently that flea collars don't work...I'm not sure about the vacuum trick, though.
I treat my 2 w/Advantage-believe me, you have to do it every month where I am (Florida) like clockwork. Today I am 1 day late in buying this month's dosage & they are just flipping out. The fleas are driving Mini crazy. I feel terrible, but there is nothing I can do till tomorrow after work.
Mini & Tucker have reactions to flea drops-they get kind of "buggy" for awhile. Nervous & high strung...just strange in general.
Please don't buy the store brand flea drops in the future-there are probably many members here that could give you some scary info about those.

Me-n-my-guys, I believe she said the vet gave her the flea medication.

The vacuum trick is an excellent one, but be sure to empty the bag outside immediately after vacuuming. The flea collars are good for that at least.

If the kitties seem to be having a bad reaction to the flea treatment from the vet, call their office and explain the situation to them. They will know what to do.
