I have A big problem with my baby boy Booone.

He uses the kitty litter fine, but recently he has started peeing on fabrics. At first I though he might have an infection, but he was fine, and is happy and healthy.

But when I am not home, he pees on stuff like the wahsing pile or my schoolbag if it's left on the floor-and he does this when no one is home.

I caught him once at home, and told him off, so I guess this is why he only does it when I'm not there, anyway, it's driving me crazy!

My stepdad complains and wants to get rid of him, I've told him he's stopped and hide all the evidence, because if he finds out we have to get rid of Boone.

I need a sneaky way to stop Boone from peeing where he isn't meant to, so my stepdad won't notice either, or he will get mad, can anyone help???

First of all please don't tell Boone off because this will stress him out and not help the situation

Me personally i would take him to the vet to make sure theres nothing wrong.

I'll move this to the behaviour forum so the others can see and advise, but in the meantime heres a link we have for you to look at.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Boone isnt an evil sneaky kitten for doing this. How old is he? Is he neutered? I would take him to the vet because there could be something wrong with him that is not obvious to you.
I can understand why your stepdad isn't happy with it but one trip to the vet could sort it and stop you from having to get rid of your kitten.
Plus if you tell him off, he is not going to have a clue what you are talking about so this is the wrong approach. You obviously care about him, so definately get him checked.

have the vet check him out. and the only time Java peed on stuff was when she was in heat - definitely get him neutered!

Well I guess from your post that you have already taken him to the vet and he says he's healthy which means he's got a behavior problem. I have just been dealing with that too. I had to put an additional litter box in one area that was a problem and put a different kind of litter in it.

I have multiple cats and use wood pellets for litter (which is fabulous) but my male intact Persian would occasionally pee or poop on our beds and tinkle where he shouldn't. had him checked out and he's fine - it's behavioral... so in case he didn't like the wood pellets I am using ONE box with Nature's Miracle. It has solved our problems.

Now for you, you might have to add another box near this pile of clothes and add a new type of litter - like the newspapers that are shredded or something. There is such a wide variety of litter to use that you'll be able to find something! Make sure you keep your bag picked up and get those clothes all in hampers with a LID. lol

Another thing... if he's ONLY doing this when YOU are gone... put him in ONE room (like the bathroom) while you are gone, where he has no choice but to use the litter box you provide.

Good luck!
