Hi, yesterday i was rubbing simba's tummy and found a small spot thing on him and today i have found another one further up but he wont stay still for me to get a proper look but it looked red and the size of a normal spot.Is it ticks or something?
He goes outside for 1 hour a day so im wondering what he has picked up.Although we will be ringing the vets tomorow, also what treatments should i be giving him anyways and how often now that he goes outside?

Also got a flea repelling breakaway collar and he wont stop scratching his neck so ive had to cut it off what a waste of money that was there quite cheap but cant afford one every day.

Any advice welcome thanks, have tried searching but cant find any answers

Firstly I'm glad you are taking Simba to the vet.

Secondly, please do NOT ever use flea collars on your cat. The flea collars are very toxic and can cause seizures and even death to your cat.

I would also suggest you let the vet know you had the flea collar on Simba just in case the spots are an allergic reaction to the collar.

Hope Simba is OK and that you get to the bottom of the spots.

The only safe treatment for fleas is what you get from the vet. We get the correct weight dosage for Mika and Bijou from our vet and apply monthly from April until November (in Canada fleas don't like to hang around much in winter).

Hello thanks for replying to me......i only just bought the flea collar this morning for him so i dont think it was that since i noticed a spot yesterday, i wont be buying them again though as waste of money.
I have been putting him one that isnt anti-flea or breakaway before i bought this new one today but at least i can remove it when he comes in, plus i can hear him with his bell.

Will post back after been in touch with a vet.

Excellent. You are right, if you just bought the collar this morning that certainly wouldn't be the cause of the spots.

Let us know what the vet says and how Simba is doing.

Hehe its not so different from humans. Why do men have nipples? I think that was a title of a book. Yes they can go down pretty low.

This thread made me laugh! I am also a big worrier so I feel for you. This reminds me of a story my vet told me. A guy brought his cat in and was quite distraught. He told the vet that the cat had a wierd fold on it's ear (on the side) and what could it possibly be! Well, it turned out that it was part of the normal ear of course and it was exactly the same on the other side! He hadn't noticed that the other ear was a mirror image. So funny. Apparently he was very relieved.
