It was one of those weekends - you know, the kind where everything breaks? It looks like I will be shopping for a new coffee maker and food processor soon.

Does anyone have any good recommendations?

I have a great suggestion for a coffee maker! I love it, so much in fact that when I moved to the house I needed to change colors from black to white (all appliances in the house are white) so I bought the same exact one in white. It works so well and has all of the best features at a great price. I think I paid $59 for it at Sears the first time, and then I found it at Costco for $40. The problem is that I am at work now and I can't for the life of me remember which brand it is
I will look around online and see if I can find it.

I don't know if this helps or where you would get one, but I got my food processor 20+ years ago and it still works like a charm. It is a Robot Coupe - that is essentially a CuisineArt but it is the original made in France. It has a large bowl which I love and lots of power. It wasn't cheap at the time but after all these years I realize it was a bargain.

That is very cool looking! It's funny, I was checking some out online earlier, and noticed that one!

Mine that has just about had it, is 13 years old.
It isn't the best, and since I have been using it a lot more, we need a better model. I will look into those. Thanks!

As coffee makers go, I would definitely recommend a Bunn-o-matic. Not just because they are manufactured near me, either...

I'm not sure about by you, but almost everywhere I have been in the U.S. uses Bunns in their restaurants. My parents used a home model when I grew up, too. We finally got a home model two years ago, and I can honestly say that it makes the best coffee that I've ever had. Not sure what they do differently to these machines, but they are wonderful!

You can buy them at Sears, I believe. Also Service Merchandise or K's Merchandise. Look it up online. I would, but I'm trying to eat and type simultaneously right now.

Good luck finding one you like!

I'm useless for the food processor, as I have never used one. Sorry!

Is there a Tuesday Morning or TJ Maxx nearby?? I bought my Krups coffeemaker at Tuesday morning for less than have of what I would have pd at a dept store. Bunn is good too but $$$
As for food processors-what do you use it for?? Chopping??? I have a Oscar that I use otherwise my blender and Kitchenaid mixer handle the other duties.
Or my arm, a wooden spoon and lots of muscle!!

Movin' on up!
I just spent $10 for a Toastmaster 12-cup coffeemaker and it works just fine. As for a food processor, I have an Oster Kitchen center. It is a combination processor, blender and mixer. I've had it for about 15 years and it still works great.

Due to limited counter space, I bought a Hamilton Beach toaster/toaster oven combo. I need both and this combines nicely. These retail for about $40.

I will have to check out all of these!

Gail, I use it mostly for chopping and grating. It was the grating that finally pushed it over the edge. I have a Tuesday Morning, TJ Maxx and HomeGoods nearby. I will have to check them out. I never thought of that.

Thanks everyone!
